Under what circumstances will the Catholic Church allow abortion?
Statue of St Gerard Majella Patron Saint of Expectant Mothers and the Unborn IMG_2287

I've heard that they allowed abortions on some nuns who were brutally raped in the Belgian Congo by some rebels. Is this the only exception?

None.

The one exception that I know is when a pregnant woman must undergo a medical procedure to save her life and as a regrettable but unavoidable circumstance the unborn baby dies. The Catholic Church does not classify this as an abortion.

To give a slightly more nuanced answer:

Abortion. Human life begins at conception and must be protected. Abortion is wrong in every instance, and by its nature automatically excommunicates the person who has it performed. This is not to say that this person is rejected by the Church, but rather that their offense is so grave that it by itself constitutes a rupture that must be repaired.

Death penalty. This is slightly more complicated due to the nature of the perpetrator's offense. The Catechism of the Church states, "Assuming that the guilty party's identity and responsibility have been fully determined, the traditional teaching of the Church does not exclude recourse to the death penalty, if this is the only possible way of effectively defending human lives against the unjust aggressor." Because of the sanctity of life, however, if society can be protected through non-lethal means, then it is immoral to execute the criminal. Indeed, because of modern jail and judicial systems, the Church states that instances in which the offender must be executed "are very rare, if not practically nonexistent."

What if you didn't vote for or against abortion, is that a mortal sin according to the Catholic church? ?
Let the re-engineering of Kenya begin

What if you voted for Obama, but voted no for abortions, or voted for Obama but nothing on abortions. The Catholic Church has me totally confused in regards to the election.
What if you didn't vote, would that be a sin because you did not try and stop abortions. Good grief!

Catholics have a moral obligation to vote for those who would not promote the evil of abortions, which is genocide. Those that say its choice doesn't finish the sentence. It's to "choose" to kill a human being.
There was never any confusion you either vote for the moral good of this nation or you did not. To not vote means you are are a cafeteria Catholic, you just choose what you like and ignore what you don't like. Those that know their faith know who was on the side of life and was obligated to vote that direction.
Just to add the person voted for by the majority believes that ripping a child out of the mothers womb and somehow survives needs to be killed off immediately (that is what a partial abortion bill is about).. its genocide. This is not a private thing between mother and doctor, the child is part of that equation but it has no rights at all to say, No don't kill me!

If you don't vote for pro life people then the future of this country is in jeopardy. Those countries that are killing off their future has no replacements look at Japan for an example of killing off their future.

Catholic church says "Abortion Is worse than rape" How can that be?
Will the Kenyan church lose credibility over stance on referendum?

How can they just get way with saying that. I mean really this guy in brazil rapes an 9 year old girl she gets pregnant with twins she'll die if she carries them, her mom lets her get the abortion the mom and doctors is excommunicated from the Church but not the rapist and a
Bishop says well rape is not as bad as an abortion. WHAT! is this how the Vatican really thinks. I don't know if i want to be a christian anymore if this the way it's supposed to go

IMO, it's not murder. Rape is worse.

Pro-choice.

I also apologise, this ones long.

But in all seriousness as someone who doesn’t find much comfort in the way the Catholic Church acts as a sort of hypocritical juggernaut the comments made in Easter sermons reek of a conjoined Catholic Super Attack! Well I had to use cool words to make it sound cooler than it was… in reality it was a poorly worded ambiguous attack that only really would make sense and be interpreted the way they want it to by their own.

State will vote on abortion amendment - Politics - SunHerald.com

A petition for an amendment to the state constitution saying human life begins at conception gained 106,325 signatures, enough to be placed on the 2011 general election ballots, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann announced Thursday.

The amendment would define life as beginning at fertilization, cloning or equivalent thereof in the state constitution, which supporters say would give human rights to the unborn. To get the measure on the ballot, a group known as Personhood Mississippi had to gather at least 89,285 signatures, with at least 17,857 coming from each of Mississippi’s five congressional districts that existed in the year 2000, per state law.

In Jackson County, 3,809 signed — the most of any South Mississippi county. In Harrison County, 3,353 signed, and 1,716 in Hancock County. Jay Cook, pastor of First Baptist Church in Pascagoula, supports the amendment because he said it’s backed by scripture.
