What exactly is the differences between the Catholic church and just an ordinary Christian? If I must be specific, than, how about, say, Protestant? What exactly is different between the two?
Short answer, Roman Catholics accept the Pope as authority. Protestants do not.
wwww.louisck.com driven by simple curiosity, I did some investiagative reporting and found out some surprising things about the Catholic Church...
Either through surgery or a ceremony, how does the Catholic church feel about born again virgins? Do they believe that becoming one will absolve someone of the sin of having sex before marriage?
Furthermore, does it say anywhere in the bible that God approves?
the difference between a virgin and a lightbulb is that you can unscrew a lightbulb
I'm currently doing a powerpoint presentation about 'Poverty and the Plight of the poor in Society and what the Catholic Church is doing about it.'
I was hoping you would be able to point me in the right direction and give me a few tips/pointers. Thanks

With love in Christ.
so im in high school and im a little unsire about what exactly the catholic church's teachings are on the aspects of dating. basically i would like to know what is appropiate to do.
kissing?
making out?
"feeling"?
oral sex?
kind of everything,
what can i do and what is a sin?
thanks alot
wheather its catholic or hard core christian they dont mind dating but everything on youre list after kissing is considered a sin. and even that can be bad to some people. my grandma was protostant i had my bf at the time at her house for one of our family get to together things, well id been dating him for 6 months so far and she knew that and she wasnt senile. and just because i kissed him once when i thought no one was looking cuz he said somethng sweet and then hugged him and sat next to him most of the day holding his hand she wrote me a letter and called me a whore. and my cousins are hard core son or the baptist born again something or other christians and theyre all close to my age (18) one of which is only a month younger than me and none of them has ever even had a date or a first kiss. the one my age graduated without going to prom because her parents had her home schooled to keep her away from boys same with her younger sister and brother. they arent allowed to date untill they leave the house
Please! I need to know the official teachings on abortion and capital punishment according to the Catholic Church!
This is for a Respect Life essay.
Praise the Lord!
To give a slightly more nuanced answer:
Abortion. Human life begins at conception and must be protected. Abortion is wrong in every instance, and by its nature automatically excommunicates the person who has it performed. This is not to say that this person is rejected by the Church, but rather that their offense is so grave that it by itself constitutes a rupture that must be repaired.

Death penalty. This is slightly more complicated due to the nature of the perpetrator's offense. The Catechism of the Church states, "Assuming that the guilty party's identity and responsibility have been fully determined, the traditional teaching of the Church does not exclude recourse to the death penalty, if this is the only possible way of effectively defending human lives against the unjust aggressor." Because of the sanctity of life, however, if society can be protected through non-lethal means, then it is immoral to execute the criminal. Indeed, because of modern jail and judicial systems, the Church states that instances in which the offender must be executed "are very rare, if not practically nonexistent."

Peggy Noonan - Catholic Church - The Press | Mediaite
Honestly, the media has done very little investigating into these priest predators, and how they were recruited, protected, and shielded in their parishes and dioceses. In contrast, the media has run thousands of stories attacking the Catholic Church, and assigning responsibility in very vague and general terms. So we hear Christopher Hitchens insisting that we should “arrest the Pope,” but the media rarely even mentions the local bishops, who often played the key role in the coverups, and frequently worked hard to prevent the Vatican from finding out about these abuses for many years. I would prefer to see more hard-hitting investigation of these crimes with more facts (who, what, when, where and how — as they teach in journalism school), and fewer anti-Catholic rants. And, yes, the perpetrators should be punished severely.
...Sinead O#39;Connor: Catholic Church Is Like #39;Having An Abusive Parent ...
Well, moderate, nice of you to politicize child abuse. Do you really think that is a left/right agenda? Oh, those nasty liberals have always had it in for the Catholics, so now they are attacking it over just a few thousands child sexual abuse cases. If outrage and demands for accountability is not across the board, something is serously wrong.
Could O’Connor’s denigrators here please specify why she is unqualified to comment on the Catholic Church’s abuse scandal? She’s just being dismissed by the commenters above, but no one bothers to say why…they just call her a “liberal” as if that’s a dirty word.
(I’m not a Catholic, nor am I particularly a fan of O’Connor’s. But I am puzzled at the apparently unmotivated vitriol directed against her here.)
