My fiance was married to a catholic armenian woman (church and court), he did not convert.
we are planning to get marry soon and I want to know if we can get marry by the catholic church.
Does the armenian church belongs to the catholic religion?
We are both raised catholic. Any feed back will be helpful. Thanks
Speak to the priest or monsignor in charge of the church. Your fiance may need to get his first marriage annuled in the catholic church.
My father was never married in the catholic church, he and 1st wife were not catholic. My mother is his 2nd wife and the catholic church would not marry them initially - they married in a Unitarian church and separately pursued the catholic church annulment. It took a while and I was there when they renewed their vows in the catholic church.
As part of a series devoted to the Christian Church in the Holy Land, we present today the Armenian Catholic Church. It follows others in the ...
I heard the Armenian and Eastern Orthodox Churches have a 5 day fast period preceding the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. In the Catholic it was 14. Is this true or is it not. How many days are considered fasting days preceding the Feast in the Armenian Apostolic Church and how much in the Roman Catholic Church?
I have never heard of a fasting and/or abstinence period in the Catholic Church other than Fridays and Lent.
With love in Christ.

Today, I took an end of the year test for my Sunday School and one of the questions was: What is a big difference between the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church(hint - it has to do with Mary, the mother of Jesus)?
I could not figure out the answer! Does anyone know it?
(By the way, I'm not Catholic, I'm Armenian Apostolic)
thanks!
Hmmm...I can only guess.
I thought *this* was the primary division (has nothing directly to do with Mary)

(Roman Catholics believing in dyophysitism).
However, I suspect that one of these things below might answer your question
a) Roman Catholics believe in the doctrine of "immaculate conception" - that Mary was conceived and born without Original Sin, the only person beside Jesus *born* without Original Sin
b) Roman Catholics believe that Mary was "ever virgin" - that she never had sexual relations during her lifetime
c) Roman Catholics believe that Mary was assumed bodily into Heaven at the moment of her death

Are catholic the orthodox churches, coptic church and armenian church? but they are not roman?
how different is catholic from orthodox? well the rites are different but romans catholics and orthodox keep the traditions and the creed of Nicea.. even this creed has changed according orthodox churches but it still the same faith.. trinity and icons or statues
They hold to the Nicean creed which makes them catholic, but not Roman Catholic. Of interest here is that a number of Protestant churches are now proclaiming "we believe ... in the holy catholic church ..." . Catholic in this sense means universal, not Roman.
The Pope would be a big one.

Christ Our Light is Risen! – St. Vartan Armenian Catholic Church
Can you believe it? Easter is here! The tomb is empty! Christ is risen! Easter begins its flowering. That Morning Start will ever set sparkles joyfully through the early light of dawn. The sun of our Eternal Day quietly emerges over the horizon. Jesus is risen and with us! Death and sin no longer have dominion.
Chris is risen; the Everlasting Morning of our Lenten nights of longing, the Loving heart of all our prayer, the Eternal Feast of our fasting bodies/souls, the Riches of all our giving. Easter, the Day of our days, our Joyful Day, the Day we celebrate Life conquering death, goodness conquering evil, is the source of lasting life, the fulfillment of all our hopes for never failing love, for peace among all, for boundless happiness. Christ’s victory of love transforms all our failures.

Baghdad (Agenzia Fides) – “We’re waiting to see which direction and what guidelines the new government will follow. We hope that the government’s plans call for peace and security.” This is what Fides learned from Archbishop Avak Asadourian, Primate of the Armenian Orthodox Church of Iraq and Secretary General of the Iraqi Council of Christian Church Leaders, which brings together leaders of 14 Christian churches in the country. Commenting on the results of the elections, the Archbishop tells Fides about some good signs: “Many citizens have participated in the vote. There was a high level of participation among Christians, as well. Now all we are waiting to see is which direction the government will take. We hope that the guiding principle of action will be to ensure...
