I'm currently doing a powerpoint presentation about 'Poverty and the Plight of the poor in Society and what the Catholic Church is doing about it.'
I was hoping you would be able to point me in the right direction and give me a few tips/pointers. Thanks

She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church St. Vincents. She received a lot of recognition as a community organizer and worked with the poor people of Australia, in particular the Aborigines, in housing, food and health care areas.
Rupert Murdock is trying to hand pick a President and congressmen/women who he can control, while the Roman Catholic Church is refusing communion to politicians who do not vote the way they want.
Do you agree with the Roman Catholic Church and the Australian Media Mogul trying to control politics in USA?
Yes absolutely, however it is unclear if they are acting in concert,
The Roman Catholic Church had huge power over us in Ireland up until the 20th century - especially with regard to matters of finance, laws and education. Schoolbooks were changed to obliterate references to entire areas of the male and female bodies, something which had no small effect on the unsustainable population growth rate which eventually propelled us into the Great Irish Famine of the mid 19th century and poverty right up until the middle of the last century. The fear they implanted into our minds of other creeds caused the catastrophe that was 'the Troubles' in Northern Ireland - something The Church had little courage to face up to beyond blaming everyone else. We are certainly lucky to finally be out of their power grip. One of the first critics of The Church's closed-mindedness was the visionary W.B. Yeats - an esteemed Irish poet - who with his famous 1913 poem sew the seeds of insight into the tumor that was the Catholic Church in Ireland. He would've asked 'why should we have to keep changing our laws just because someone in Italy said so?' While The Church doesn't formally support the US oversea military activities, that isn't much of a concession after years of crusades, corruption, censorship and cover-up.
News Corp. (i.e. Rupert Murdoch) also have a conservative agenda which I don't like, especially in regard to their ownership of FOX news. However, I can see that they abandon their principles at a moment's notice if they got the whiff of huge piles of cash (as The Church did up until and after the Middle Ages). I'm specifically referring to the wet, sticky cash they earn by effectively prostituting young girls on 'page three' of the yellow-rag UK-based 'The Sun' newspaper and his other newspapers worldwide who are basically carbon-copies of this paper's format (e.g. The Irish Sun). We can see from this that Rupert Murdoch and Co are not in fact paragons of virtue and instead are cowardly mouthers: the type who'd sell their souls for dirty dirty money and who'd support conscription only if it didn't involve their own family.
eg.symbols, rituals !!
You should ask this to either people in Australia or Italy. Or maybe a Catholic forum. Australia would be most relavant since that's the country of topic. I'd imagine the influence they had would be similar to America - except that in modern day religion is more important in the U.S. Australia has a rather large Atheist/Agnostic population much like Italy. Most Italian's came to Australia a little later than America too - more around WWI, WWII and some after WWII. The U.S. initiated the immigration act of 1924 which limited southern European countries from coming to the U.S. It also cut all European immigration by 90%. I'd imagine the rituals of Catholicism would be similar to other countries. Most Italian-Australians are likely mixed just like American's, Canadians, Argentines and Brazilians of Italian ancestry.

Truth Wins Out - Australian Catholic Exorcist: #39;Twilight#39; and ...
THE appointment of a new exorcist by Sydney’s Catholic Church precedes a warning by a senior clergyman that generation Y risks a dangerous fascination with the occult fuelled by the Twilight and Harry Potter series.
Julian Porteous, the auxiliary bishop of Sydney, warns that pursuing such ”alternative” relaxation techniques as yoga, reiki massages and tai chi may encourage experimentation with ”deep and dark spiritual ideas and traditions”.
Bishop Porteous, who is second to Cardinal George Pell in the Australian Catholic hierarchy, told The Sun-Herald the Twilight and Harry Potter books and films ”are attractive to adolescents and can be innocent enough.
”However, they can open up a fascination with this mysterious world and invite exploration of various phenomena through the use of occult practices like seances.”

I also apologise, this ones long.
But in all seriousness as someone who doesn’t find much comfort in the way the Catholic Church acts as a sort of hypocritical juggernaut the comments made in Easter sermons reek of a conjoined Catholic Super Attack! Well I had to use cool words to make it sound cooler than it was… in reality it was a poorly worded ambiguous attack that only really would make sense and be interpreted the way they want it to by their own.
