Cardinal Hosius (Catholic, 1524), President of the Council of Trent:
"Were it not that the baptists have been grievously tormented and cut off with the knife during the past twelve hundred years, they would swarm in greater number than all the Reformers." (Hosius, Letters, Apud Opera, pp. 112, 113.)

The "twelve hundred years" were the years preceding the Reformation in which Rome persecuted Baptists with the most cruel persecution thinkable.

One answer to that problem was the U.S. Constitution and other Western rights bills. Now Catholics and Protestants often work together as allies within the context of religious and political freedoms.

The Pope chooses ordained men (usually bishops) to give the title and responsibility of Cardinal.

Cardinals who are younger than 80 years of age (at the time of a Papal Conclave) have the responsibility of electing the next Pope.

Yes. (not currently though) but it could change. There used to be lay cardinals.

A cardinal is a senior ecclesiastical official, usually a bishop, of the Catholic Church. They are collectively known as the College of Cardinals, which as a body elects a new pope.

You first need your bachelors degree, then a Master in either Theology or Divinity. From there you work your way up the ladder.
