does alter-serving in the catholic church count as community service?

I was wondering if the alter-serving in the catholic church count as a community service in colleges and high school. Primarily, I need to know whether it's for UCs in California or not. Please tell me!
Please don't answer the question like the person who answered it first. She only answered a part of my question.

You mean an alter boy in your church? The answer is no to your question.

What is the name of the red candle on the alter in the catholic church?

I don't think it has a certain name, although I could be wrong.

This candle, when lit, is what tells you that the nearby tabernacle currently contains the body and blood of Christ in the Eucharist.

It doesn't necessarily have to be behind the altar anymore.

catholic/ alter in catholic churches go all the way down to the ground under the church/does luthers church?

Altar. Not "alter".

Catholic altars don't "go down under" the church. They are solid, and are to contain the relics of a Saint and be blessed (or at least have an "altar stone" containing relics) to be valid.

They are also carved with five small crosses at the corners (altar "horns") to remind the faithful of the Five Wounds of Christ during His death and passion.

This is to remind us that many of the first Masses were done in the Catacombs and on top of saints' sepulchers (coffins)

Lutheran "altars" can be wood and contain no relics.

Does alter-serving at a catholic church count as community service that I can put on my resume?

Do not put that on your resume, unless you're applying for some type of church position (unlikely).

It is considered unprofessional to mention religious affliation or experience on a resume or job application.

You wouldn't put church attendance on your resume as an experience, so how does that sound any better?

I'm catholic but an Alter boy for an Anglican church. Is that ok?

I'm Catholic but I thought i was anglican so I started going to an Anglican church then I found out that I'm Catholic but I'm an alter boy for my church what should I do?

I'm a bit confused. How does a person not understand what religion he or she belongs to? You "found out" that you're Catholic? Anyway, I can only assume that you haven't undergone Confirmation yet (in which case, there would be no doubt as to your religious preference). It also comes down to a matter of which church you personally prefer. This is a decision that you must make for yourself. It sounds as if you're already active as an altar server in the Anglican Church. If you wish to remain one, that's fine. When the time comes for your Confirmation, just get confirmed into the Anglican Church. It doesn't matter what you're "supposed" to be, or what you were previously. Only you can decide upon your religion. If you wish to be a Catholic, then make arrangements to get confirmed as a Catholic (if you are of age to do so). In the meanwhile, I don't think there's anything wrong with continuing your duties in the Anglican Church. This is really something that you should discuss with a priest, though. Try talking to the priest at the Anglican Church where you serve.
