Jer 31:7-9
Thus says the LORD:
Shout with joy for Jacob,
exult at the head of the nations;
proclaim your praise and say:
The LORD has delivered his people,
the remnant of Israel.
Behold, I will bring them back
from the land of the north;
I will gather them from the ends of the world,
with the blind and the lame in their midst,
the mothers and those with child;
they shall return as an immense throng.
They departed in tears,
but I will console them and guide them;
I will lead them to brooks of water,
on a level road, so that none shall stumble.
For I am a father to Israel,
Ephraim is my first-born.
Responsorial Psalm
Ps 126:1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 6
R. (3) The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
When the LORD brought back the captives of Zion,
we were like men dreaming.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with rejoicing.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Then they said among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."
The LORD has done great things for us;
we are glad indeed.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
like the torrents in the southern desert.
Those that sow in tears
shall reap rejoicing.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Although they go forth weeping,
carrying the seed to be sown,
They shall come back rejoicing,
carrying their sheaves.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Reading II
Heb 5:1-6
Brothers and sisters:
Every high priest is taken from among men
and made their representative before God,
to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.
He is able to deal patiently with the ignorant and erring,
for he himself is beset by weakness
and so, for this reason, must make sin offerings for himself
as well as for the people.
No one takes this honor upon himself
but only when called by God,
just as Aaron was.
In the same way,
it was not Christ who glorified himself in becoming high priest,
but rather the one who said to him:
You are my son:
this day I have begotten you;
just as he says in another place:
You are a priest forever
according to the order of Melchizedek.
Gospel
Mk 10:46-52
As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd,
Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus,
sat by the roadside begging.
On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth,
he began to cry out and say,
"Jesus, son of David, have pity on me."
And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent.
But he kept calling out all the more,
"Son of David, have pity on me."
Jesus stopped and said, "Call him."
So they called the blind man, saying to him,
"Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you."
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Jesus said to him in reply, "What do you want me to do for you?"
The blind man replied to him, "Master, I want to see."
Jesus told him, "Go your way; your faith has saved you."
Immediately he received his sight
and followed him on the way.
Rosary Catholic Church in Sao Pualo, Brazil.
Why were the Mass reading at that dedication from Nehemiah, 1Chorinthians, and Matthew, if todays Mass readings were Exodus Romans and John, whats up with the different Mass readings that they had at that dedication in Brazil?
Is it different if it is a dedication or something?
*Is Catholic*
The show could have been taped on another day (most likely).
Also it might not have been a daily mass but a mass of dedication which would use different readings.
Note : The 1st pope is Peter and down the line to the current pope, each pope can be traced and accounted for.
Without God's power, it wouldn't be able to sustain this long, let alone to remain in unity. Today u can attend any mass, in any part of the world, the missal readings and worship are the same.
On the contrary, the protestant churches disagree among themselves, divide and there is simply no unity among themselves. All vie for glory of God as true gospel carriers.
In the bible its important to note, false preacher come and lead their followers to doom.

Where did you hear the Catholic Church is a cult? I've never heard that one. Like where have I been all my life!
If I have been in a cult all my life, that's news to me. I'm smart enough to know the difference. Who congers up all this ridiculous, mindless rubbish?
Must be those false preachers who lead the vulnerable away from their families and ultimate death. Don't think that even comes close to the Catholic Church or any other religion for that matter.
False preachers/cults is out and out murder.
I won't even bring Protestant Churches into this. Protestants deserve better. Everyone has their own beliefs and have the right to attend the Church of their choice.
False preachers/cults are a whole different world apart.
All I can say to you is don't listen to the ridiculous, mindless rubbish that always seems to be floating around out there.
Two thousand years from now if someone finds one of today's newspapers they may read something like this: front page"Man goes to jail for stealing money", sports page"baseball player steals second base", and in the classifieds"buy this car now, what a steal". What would he think of our society unless he put these words into the context of today's usage.
The same applies to the Bible, when we interpret the readings we have to ask ourselves, who researched the true meaning of this and what is his/her qualifications. It is easy to see from this assertion why there are so many disagreements among Protestants about the Bible's meaning, and so many different church communities.
The Catholic Church looks at the interpretation differently, first of all the doctors of the church study the language of the day and its meaning and then apply that to the Bible. This is an ongoing study that was begun from the time of the writings through today. I believe true students of history, religion and linguistics are much more qualified to interpret the basis of our belief than an individual minister.
Of course individual interpretation is a great problem and especially when isolated from the teaching of the Church. But, of course, Jesus never taught the writing of the Bible but instead established the teaching authority of the Church through the apostles and continued this authority through apostolic succession. The Church grew and prospered for almost four hundred years on apostolic authority before there was a Canon of Scripture.
Obviously we can see from the Protestant heresy of Sola Scriptura that individual interpretation causes schisms and appeals to human pride. Each person imagines himself a theologian. Over 30,000 different denominations each teaching their own heresies and doctrines of men has divided Christ's family and wounded His Body. We must pray as He did that we all be one in His Church and not in the ecclesiastical groups founded by heretical men.
God bless!

I have accepted the church of Rome and the Bishop,I am now roman catholic by faith (Not yet baptised,working on it) I was able to narrow the Original Church to two churches,Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox.After much MUCH study,Quotes in Context analyzes,History and Theology readings,I have went throughout the First 1000+ years of the church and have found that one "MUST" fallow the Bishop of Rome,I have accepted.Didn't want to,but truth is truth.It's not like time,it is NOT relative.
Ok,well I have recieved on my 18th birthday (Today,July 31st) a Roman Catholic NSRV and a Second Edition Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC).I have recieved a Rosary and a Brown Scapular from a Fatima Site.I am using the Rosary,but the promise of the Brown Scapular is a little unsettling for me,So I might send it to my Grandfather ^.^ I really love him,he might get good use from it in Faith.
What else should I have? In terms of Sacrementals and Items that increase faith n Grace.As a New Catholic.
Thank you
Haha Yes I have love.alot of love :) Haha Since I started my journey of finding GOD's Church in this cornucopia of churches,I thought it would never happen,but once I went back to the beginning narrowing it down became fast and easy. :)
I Accept Jesus and I'm only saved THROUGH Grace IN Christ.But the bible says "Faith without work is dead" We don't work FOR Salvation,we work ON salvation.We are saved in Christ,but we need to build it and edify it.
Not a resume,Not the right way to look at it.It's about growth.Dont-cha think?
Markie no good grammar,Markie ask questions.
A Bible, Jesus of mercy Photo, and love for Him. More than enough. All the best new catholic!

St. Landry Catholic Church: Readings and Themes for the Week of ...
Today we follow Mary of Magdala, Peter, and John to the tomb where we find the stone rolled away. Sharing their amazement, we find that the tomb is empty. That empty tomb stands as an everlasting sign of hope – hope for a world free from fear, free from sin, free from death. As God’s word is proclaimed, let us be filled with joy and gladness on this Easter day. The location of Emmaus has not been definitely established. Two sites northwest of Jerusalem make strong claims. One is approximately seven miles from Jerusalem, as reported in Luke’s gospel, the other is approximately twenty miles, but makes a stronger case. The disciples that encountered Jesus would have left Jerusalem early in the morning. Walking at a brisk pace they could cover twenty miles in one day. They do...
The Rockin Apologist: Today is Holy Saturday
Tonight is the celebration of the Easter Vigil. There are several readings, far more then the usual four which are read on Ordinary Sundays. The Church begins her reflection on the mystery of the resurrection by starting with the beginning, the book of Genesis where the fall of humanity is narrated. Next we will move through the book of Exodus recalling God's dealings with humanity after the fall, and his moments in salvation history which prepare the Church for the coming of Jesus. Readings will also be proclaimed from the prophets. Everything culminates with the reading of the Holy Gospel whereby one of the resurrection accounts are narrated. This is also the night where converts into the Faith are received into the Church and baptized. Through Christ's death on the cross, he has destroyed...
