what churches are not strict when god parents are not married through the catholic religion?
The stage is set at Riverside Church. If only they knew how many weapons Chávez has purchased in recent years...

my husband and I were asked to be godparents IN the catholic religion but were not married through the catholic religion were could we find A church that is not strict around the riverside area ca.

Sorry, it's a Catholic rule that is the same everywhere. One godparent has to be a Catholic in good standing. If you are already Catholic but were not married in the church or have had it bless in the church it's not an issue. My husband and I were not married in the church and we have not had our marriage blessed. We are practicing Catholics. We were the godparents of two children baptized last Easter. If neither of you are Catholic then the parents of the child have a problem.

Bulletin (cover) for the event.

-----places between los angeles and riverside...thanks!

Most Catholic churches require you to be a parishioner for a year before getting married in that church. Don't choose a church just because the building will look nice in pictures. That is the smallest part of your day.

Note: These are all facts.... you can research for yourself. So with that much said, would you want to follow a Church with 20-30 years of history, or one with 2000+ years...?

I'm Lutheran.

You're not going to like this, but history is what it is.

The Roman Pope started the Lutheran Church by excommunicating Martin Luther. The Council of Trent finished what the Pope began by excommunicating the rest of us. There was no intent to divide the Church, but our Lord saw fit to continue and prosper His Church without Rome and the Pope. Your current Pope, one of the foremost Luther Scholars, has expressed deep regret at Luther's excommunication.

You state the Catholics began in 33 in Jerusalem. That would be under the oversight of St. James of Jerusalem, the first Bishop, not St. Peter of Rome.

I love history.

Your friend in Christ,

Mark

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that their worship is a restoration of biblical Christianity, as practiced by the apostles and first century Christians. They recognize Christ himself (and the apostles to a much lesser extent) as the "foundation" of true Christian worship. Of course, the bible teaches that God Himself is the "builder".
.. ..(Isaiah 28:16) Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Here I am laying as a foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, the precious corner of a sure foundation.
.. ..(Acts 4:10-11) Jesus Christ the Nazarene... This is ‘the stone that was treated by you builders as of no account that has become the head of the corner.’
.. ..(Revelation 21:14) The wall of the city also had twelve foundation stones, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
.. ..(Hebrews 11:10) the city having real foundations, the builder and maker of which city is God.

In modern times, Jehovah's Witnesses have always acknowledged that Charles Russell had a central role in re-establishing true Christianity in the 1870's. Yet Witnesses have never pretended to be followers of Charles Russell any more than they pretended to be followers of Paul or Apollos or Cephas or of ANYONE but Christ Jesus. When seven million Jehovah's Witnesses preach from door to door each month, they work to preach the "good news about the Christ".
.. ..(1 Corinthians 1:12-17) What I mean is this, that each one of you says: “I belong to Paul,” “But I to Apollos,” “But I to Cephas,” ...Paul was not impaled for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? ...Christ dispatched me, not to go baptizing, but to go declaring the good news

Moving from Belfast to Ballyshannon (Donegal) - Can anyone tell me what Ballyshannon is like?
The photo gallery. Note the special placement for Venezuelan State TV (VTV) outside the ropes in the background.

Is it a friendly place for newcomers, or is it one of those clicky shitey villages where everyone seems to be related and newcomers are viewed as outsiders?

Will I be at a disadvantage because my Irish (Gaeilge) is crap?

What is public transport like?

Is there a school there or is it a long journey?

Is there a Catholic church/chapel?

What is the crime rate like?

Can you walk along the riverside?

Is it a good place to go hillwalking?

As the 'child' I don't have a say, but I would really like to know what to expect. Any advice would be much more than welcome.

There's plenty of places to go walking. Crime rate is low. You can get down to the river. It's beautiful in summer. There's a chapel on the hill overlooking the town - it's quite big by the way! They won't notice if your Irish is crap because theirs is too! There's a school in the centre of town.

And when you are older you'll find the pubs aren't bad!

  • Illinois GOP.org Roots: The Price of Prop 8

&Nbsp;Abstract: Supporters of Proposition 8 in California have been subjected to harassment, intimidation, vandalism, racial scapegoating, blacklisting, loss of employment, economic hardships, angry protests, violence, at least one death threat, and gross expressions of anti-religious bigotry. Arguments for same-sex marriage are based fundamentally on the idea that limiting marriage to the union of husband and wife is a form of bigotry, irrational prejudice, and even hatred against homosexual persons. As this ideology seeps into the culture more generally, individuals and institutions that support marriage as the union of husband and wife risk paying a price for that belief in many legal, social, economic, and cultural contexts. Support for Proposition 8, the democratically established marriage...
