I am looking for your thoughts on this prophecy which is valid and approved by the church.
Our Lady prophesied that at the end of the 19th Century and especially in the 20th Century that Satan would reign almost completely by the means of the Masonic sect. The Queen of Heaven told Mother Mariana that this battle would reach its most acute stage because of various unfaithful religious, who, "under the appearance of virtue and bad-spirited zeal, would turn upon Religion, who nourished them at her breast." "During this time," she continued, "insomuch as this poor country will lack the Christian spirit, the Sacrament of Extreme Unction will be little esteemed. Many people will die without receiving it – either because of the negligence of their families or their false sentimentality that tries to protect the sick from seeing the gravity of their situations, or because they will rebel against the spirit of the Catholic Church, impelled by the malice of the devil. Thus many souls will be deprived of innumerable graces, consolations and the strength they need to make that great leap from time to eternity..." "As for the Sacrament of Matrimony, which symbolizes the union of Christ with His Church, it will be attacked and profaned in the fullest sense of the word. Masonry, which will then be in power, will enact iniquitous laws with the objective of doing away with this Sacrament, making it easy for everyone to live in sin, encouraging the procreation of illegitimate children born without the blessing of the Church. The Christian spirit will rapidly decay, extinguishing the precious light of Faith until if reaches the point that there will be an almost total and general corruption of customs. The effects of secular education will increase, which will be one reason for the lack of priestly and religious vocations..."
"The Sacred Sacrament of Holy Orders will be ridiculed, oppressed and despised. ...The demon will try to persecute the Ministers of the Lord in every possible way and he will labor with cruel and subtle astuteness to deviate them from the spirit of their vocation, corrupting many of them. These corrupted priests, who will scandalize the Christian people, will incite the hatred of the bad Christians and the enemies of the Roman, Catholic and Apostolic Church to fall upon all priests. This apparent triumph of Satan will bring enormous sufferings to the good Pastors of the Church...."
"Moreover, in these unhappy times, there will be unbridled luxury which, acting thus to snare the rest into sin, will conquer innumerable frivolous souls who will be lost. Innocence will almost no longer be found in children, nor modesty in women. In this supreme moment of need of the Church, those who should speak will fall silent."
"But know, beloved daughter, that when your name is made known in the 20th century, there will be many who will not believe, claiming that this devotion is not pleasing to God...A simple humble faith in the truth of My apparitions to you, My predilect child, will be reserved for humble and fervent souls docile to the inspirations of grace, for Our Heavenly Father communicates His secrets to the simple of heart, and not to those whose hearts are inflated with pride, pretending to know what they do not, or self-satisfied with empty knowledge."
During this time, Our Lady foretold, "the secular Clergy will leave much to be desired because priests will become careless in their sacred duties. Lacking the divine compass, they will stray from the road traced by God for the priestly ministry, and they will become attached to wealth and riches, which they will unduly strive to obtain. How the Church will suffer during this dark night! Lacking a Prelate and Father to guide them with paternal love, gentleness, strength, wisdom and prudence, many priests will lose their spirit, placing their souls in great danger. This will mark the arrival of My hour."
"Therefore, clamor insistently without tiring and weep with bitter tears in the privacy of your heart, imploring our Celestial Father that, for love of the Eucharistic Heart of my Most Holy Son and His Precious Blood shed with such generosity and the profound bitterness and sufferings of His cruel Passion and Death, He might take pity on His ministers and bring to an end those Ominous times, sending to this Church the Prelate who will restore the spirit of its priests."
On December 8, 1634, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, three archangels and their Queen appeared to Mother Mariana. St. Gabriel was carrying a Ciborium filled with Hosts which Our Lady explained: "This signifies the Most August Sacrament of the Eucharist, which will be distributed by my Catholic priests to faithful Christians belonging to the Holy Roman, Catholic and Apostolic Church, whose visible head is the Pope, the King of Christianity. His pontifical infallibility will be declared a dogma of the Faith by the same Pope chosen to proclaim the dogma of the Mystery of My Immaculate Conception. He will be persecuted and imprisoned in the Vatican by the unjust usurpation of the Pontifical States through the iniquity, envy and avarice of an earthly monarch." This holy Pope was Blessed Pius IX, who fulfilled every prediction made by Our Lady. His body, being exhumed for beatification in 2000, was found miraculously preserved in the tomb where it had lain for more than a century. His face still showed a striking serenity in death.
Another most interesting prophecy of Our Lady: "In the 19th Century there will be a truly Catholic president, a man of character whom God Our Lord will give the palm of martyrdom on the square adjoining this Convent. He will consecrate the Republic to the Sacred Heart of My Most Holy Son, and this consecration will sustain the Catholic Religion in the years that will follow, which will be ill-fated ones for the Church. These years, during which the evil sect of Masonry will take control of the civil government – will see a cruel persecution of all religious communities, and they will also strike out violently against this one of mine."
The "truly Catholic" president of Ecuador, Gabriel Garcia Moreno (1821-1875), consecrated the republic to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1873. Pope Pius IX paid him tribute as a man who had died "the death of a martyr...a victim to his Faith and Christian charity." Gabriel Moreno's incorrupt heart and the famous painting of Our Lady of Quito can be seen in the Cathedral of Quito.
Conclusion
We are living in a time of the great crisis of Faith and morals as prophesied by Our Lady. The confusion is of such magnitude that it is not only subverting the temporal sphere, but also penetrates the walls of the Church itself. Indeed, as Our Lady prophesied, the corruption of customs has become general and the precious light of Faith almost extinct. Yet the message of Our Lady of Good Success ends with a note of great hope: When everything will seem lost and paralyzed, that will be "the happy beginning of the complete restoration. This will mark the arrival of my hour, when I, in a marvelous way, will dethrone the proud and cursed Satan, trampling him under my feet and fettering him in the infernal abyss." It is the promise echoed by Our Lady again at Fatima in 1917: "In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph."
The question is for Catholics what are your thoughts on this prophecy. Yes this is the 21st century, the prophecy was made in the centuries ago about what would begin to happen in the 20th century. I am looking for your thoughts on this prophecy. If you believe it or not.
Elmbeard. Nice answer, but I don't believe Benedict XVI is a valid pope. I believe just as this prophecy says that the church will have no prelate, no pope, no leader to guide it. I know that since Vatican II we have had heretic after heretic claim the throne of St. Peter and spout nothing but heresy and blasphemy. I don't know about that Nostradamus prophecy. I suppose we shall have to see what happens and stock up on blessed candles.
I forget to site my source. here it is.

so cross crafter, after that extremely long response, I saw no answer as to what you think of this prophecy, which it doesn't really matter since you are no Catholic. You have spread many lies today and I only hope that the people who read your answer will not be duped into believing everything you have said. I hope they do their own research and that includes reading the Catholic side of the story. People, please don't believe everything you read. History books are merely someone's perspective of what happened.
I hope the Lady of Good success will shine down on us.

An old lady walks into a Catholic Church, lights a candle in front of a Stature of Our Lady of Grace and prays.
Everyone knows that she is worhiping plaster, wood and stone, right? Everyone knows that she is so stupid as to think that that plaster will save her, right?
Everyone knows none of this is Biblical, right?
WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!
That old lady will get into heaven before you do. You know why? You have judged her already and Jesus told us not to judge. Did you ever think that your judgment could be wrong?
What if that lady lite the candle because Christ is the light, the true light that enlightens men.
What if she is praying before, not to, that statue to Christ mother who is now in heaven praying and helping us in our love relationship with God. The saints are not dead. The phrase"asleep" does not mean gone. God is the God of the living not the dead. If all the saints are dead asleep then how did Moses appear in the Transfiguration
How do the 24 ancients live in the Revelations? Saints live. God is the God of the living, not the dead.
That old lady will get into heaven before you because she knows something many others don't. Love of God and neighbor in the Communion of Saints!
She is not the dead one, you are. Your faith died in the reformation when the reformers invented their doctrines, never before heard in the Church and Christ himself never preached Protestantism.
THE POINT IS THAT CATHOLICS DO NOT WORSHIP STATUES. THE POINT IS THAT FUNDAMENTALISTS ARE SO DUMB THAT THEY THINK CATHOLICS DO!
I'm 71 &have been a catholic for 7years. Many people have asked me why? My answer is simple; because I beleive that this is where God wants me. As a former Protestant, I too used to beleive thet catholics worshiped statues. NOTHING IS FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. We worship what the image represents. I once heard a Baptist Minister say that "my Christ came down off of the Cross"(refering to the Crucifix that is in all Catholic Churches. My answer to that is; so has mine. That crucifix represents what Christ did for ALL of us. So much for statue or idol worship. These words come from the mouths of the ignorant, one of which I used to be. God Bless of of you who worship the Living God, & also our brothers & sisters who don't. We are all Gods children
I have a 3 tiered book shelf (has open shelves) I am using this as my altar for now, the bottom shelves are for my prayer books, bibles, etc. I have a statue of Our Lady of Grace in the middle and a Crucifix hanging in the middle of the wall. I would like to add other statues of Jesus, Mary, angels, and various saints, but don't know how they should be arranged. I have looked at other web sites which say to make the altar like the altar in the church with Mary on the left, St. Joseph on the right, and Jesus in the center, (usually this is a tabernacle). Can I be creative with my altar and leave Mary in the middle, and can I have another altar? Catholics who still have altars in their homes please reply. Thanks.
I have two Catholic altar/shrine at home (one upstairs, one downstairs), which my mom arranged. It has the baby Jesus of Prague in the middle of both of them, a slightly smaller figure of Mary on one side of him, and St. Joseph on the other, and a few little figurines of saints surrounding them. You can rearrange your altar/shrine however you want. Personally, I like the way my mom rearranged it: large statue in the middle and smaller statues surrounding it. We also have bouquets of flowers on our altars, candles, and other lights shaped into flowers, etc.
Despite the radicalism of early Protestantism toward many ancient Catholic "distinctives," Martin Luther was rather conservative in some of his doctrinal views, such as on baptismal regeneration, the Eucharist, and particularly the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Luther indeed was quite devoted to Our Lady, and retained most of the traditional Marian doctrines which were held then and now by the Catholic Church. This is often not well-documented in Protestant biographies of Luther and histories of the 16th century,
Along with virtually all important Protestant Founders (e.g., Calvin, Zwingli, Cranmer), Luther accepted the traditional belief in the perpetual virginity of Mary (Jesus had no blood brothers), and her status as the Theotokos (Mother of God).
Probably the most astonishing Marian belief of Luther is his acceptance of Mary's Immaculate Conception, which wasn't even definitively proclaimed as dogma by the Catholic Church until 1854.
Luther held to the idea and devotional practice of the veneration of Mary and expressed this on innumerable occasions with the most effusive language.
His attitude towards the use of the "Hail Mary" prayer (the first portion of the Rosary) is illustrative. In certain polemical utterances he appears to condemn its recitation altogether, but he is only forbidding a use of Marian devotions apart from heartfelt faith, as the following two citations make clear:
Whoever possesses a good (firm) faith, says the Hail Mary without danger! Whoever is weak in faith can utter no Hail Mary without danger to his salvation. (Sermon, March 11, 1523).
Our prayer should include the Mother of God.. .What the Hail Mary says is that all glory should be given to God, using these words: "Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus Christ. Amen!" You see that these words are not concerned with prayer but purely with giving praise and honor.. .We can use the Hail Mary as a meditation in which we recite what grace God has given her. Second, we should add a wish that everyone may know and respect her...He who has no faith is advised to refrain from saying the Hail Mary. (Personal Prayer Book, 1522).
His views of Mary as Mother of God and as ever-Virgin were identical to those in Catholicism, and his opinions on the Immaculate Conception, Mary's "Spiritual Motherhood" and the use of the "Hail Mary" were substantially the same. He didn't deny the Assumption (he certainly didn't hesitate to rail against doctrines he opposed!), and venerated Mary in a very touching fashion which, as far as it goes, is not at all contrary to Catholic piety.
Therefore, it can be stated without fear of contradiction that Luther's Mariology is very close to that of the Catholic Church today, far more than it is to the theology of modern-day Lutheranism. To the extent that this fact is dealt with at all by Protestants, it is usually explained as a "holdover" from the early Luther's late medieval Augustinian Catholic views ("everyone has their blind spots," etc.). But this will not do for those who are serious about consulting Luther in order to arrive at the true "Reformation heritage" and the roots of an authentic Protestantism. For if Luther's views here can be so easily rationalized away, how can the Protestant know whether he is trustworthy relative to his other innovative doctrines such as extrinsic justification by faith alone and sola Scriptura?
It appears, once again, that the truth about important historical figures is almost invariably more complex than the "legends" and overly-simplistic generalizations which men often at the remove of centuries—create and accept uncritically.
There are a lot things about Martin Luther that the average Protestant doesn't know and probably wouldn't admit to, even if they did -- his love of the Blessed Virgin and his vicious anti-Semitism among them. Which makes the Protestant fear/hatred/mistrust of the Blessed Virgin even more ironic, considering how deeply devoted the founder of Protestantism was to her.
Ah well, what can I say -- I gave up trying to understand how Protestants think and reason a long time ago.
Edit:
Speaking of our Protestant brothers and sisters in Christ, they're conspicuous by their absence. Gee, I wonder if that's because they might just have to rethink their approach to the Blessed Virgin in light of their founder's devotion to her?
Nah -- that couldn't be it. Could it? ;-)

Kristina and Mike#39;s DIY Wedding « EMMALINE BRIDE :: The Blog
Natalie tells us, “Kristina & Mike’s wedding was full of DIY and personalized items. The cake topper consisted of two birds dressed for a party. The guestbook was an old record that guests signed with a silver pen. Kristina’s green clutch was made for her by an etsy artist, and her neighbor designed the flowers the morning of the wedding. The tables were decorated with terra cotta pots with a variety of herbs, and each pot was marked with a stone that said the name of the herb. The flowergirl carried down the rings in a beautiful birdnest. The paper products were all decorated with designs that included birds. To celebrate their Italian heritage, an aunt made some green Italian cookies! Kristina wore beautiful jewelry and to-die-for green shoes that matched her clutch. During the formals at Kristina’s house, a neighbor’s cat visited and made the couple burst into laughter… and of course find a hair remover for Mike’s pants! Everything was so wonderfully put together, and their guests had a blast dancing the night away beneath the tent!” :)
