If the Catholic Church Is false?
St. Rose of Viterbo

.And all Catholic’s Believe this,
That the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell is by believing in this life that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Please pray now: "Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. ( Gee and I thought when they went to Confession and said these words( Forgive Me Father For I have sinned)( Meaning God the Father) and confessed their sins to one another The Priest or whoever else (in The Bible) and to God they would be forgiven.. Weather or not they knew the committed sin and or not. You see they also say Know or unknown sins.. (Gee I thought you could not loose your salvation..) But I guess it doesn’t count if your Catholic does it..

I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose again. Thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die :)

Gee wiz would this Count

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen

The person who gave you that quote gives that quote to everyone. He cuts and pastes it in every answer. He is a notorious Catholic hater named Chris and in my time on Yahoo Answers he's had dozens of accounts deleted for being utterly obnoxious, and he just keeps right on creating them and coming back for more.

St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church - Totus Tuus 2006

Our week long faith filled program.

If any Church is built on the Apostles Creed, doesn't that mean they are the "right" church?
St. Rose of Lima

As in, if any protestant church is built on the apostles creed, arnt they basically on of the "right" churches?

1. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
2. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
3. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
4. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
5. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again.
6. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
7. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
8. I believe in the Holy Spirit,
9. the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints,
10. the forgiveness of sins,
11. the resurrection of the body,
12. and the life everlasting.
Amen.
I mean I can tell it was made way after the apostles for the simple fact it says "catholic church".

But all the other stuff is true right?
Morningstar, are you one of those black israelites that preach on the corners about how we are the true Jews?

Yes and No putting it simple you can be religious but still NOT know Jesus.

Most Christian churches beleive in this creed but Jesus wants our hearts.

Jesus is seeking our hearts NOT a religion.

Raised in tradional Church but Left because after years of religious upbringing I still did not KNOW Him personally but just an empty religion.

Why does the church have the NICENE and APOSTLES Creeds....?
St. Rose of Viterbo

When they basically say the same thing?

Nicene Creed:

I believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
and of all things visible and invisible;

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only begotten Son of God,
begotten of his Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made;
who for us men and for our salvation
came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost
of the Virgin Mary,
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried;
and the third day he rose again
according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of the Father;
and he shall come again, with glory,
to judge both the quick and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost the Lord, and Giver of Life,
who proceedeth from the Father [and the Son];
who with the Father and the Son together
is worshipped and glorified;
who spake by the Prophets.
And I believe one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church;
I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and I look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. AMEN.

Apostles Creed:

believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into hell. [See Calvin]

The third day He arose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost;
the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.

Amen.

An even more interesting question (at least in my view). . . Why did they drop what is now termed "Iraneaus' Creed" for the updated Apostles then Nicean Creeds? Is it because the original Christian Creed says salvation comes to All Men, not just those who believe or do anything in particular?

Ultimately things were updated each time to centralize political power in Rome and turn a spirituality into a political-religious-dictatorship.

Does the Apostles' Creed sound like hypnotic Catholic brainwashing to you?
St. Rosa van Lima

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and the third day he rose from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy, catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
If you kept repeating I believe black is white with purple polka dots often enough all day you'd probably believe that too.
Naturally if you've already been hypnotised by the Apostles' Creed you won't recognise this as hypnotism at all.
Daewen: It isn't praying for anything, it's just repeating that you believe something over and over ...clearly it's repetitive brainwashing, this is taught to children.

Despite your irreverence, you could make that kind of an arguement with the Pledge of Allegance. The point of the different Creeds was to have a condenced summary of the key beliefs of Christianity that would be easy to remember and understand.

what does each line of the apostles creed mean?[[catholic version]]?

"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;"
God is a loving (our father), supreme (almighty) deity. He existed before the world, creating it and creating us.

"and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, "
Jesus is the second Person in the Holy Trinity. He is the Messiah (the Christ).

"Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,"
Mary never had sex, and yet she gave birth to Jesus. He was conceived not of the union between a woman and a man, but through God's own power and the consent of a woman.

"suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried."
Pontius Pilate had him whipped and executed. Jesus, our Lord and God, died. His body was placed within a tomb.

"He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; "
Before Jesus, the gates of Heaven were barred. When He died, He joined the dead who were not yet able to ascend into heaven. On the third day after His death, Jesus was resurrected. He conquered death and returned to life.

"He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty;"
After 40 days on Earth, Jesus ascended into Heaven and opened its gates to all the righteous. He resides there with God, the "first born" (the first into heaven) amongst all people.

"from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead."
Jesus will decide who may enter Heaven and who is left outside.

"I believe in the Holy Spirit,"
The third Person of the Trinity. The Messenger, Intercessor, and Spirit of God.

"the holy Catholic Church"
The Church Jesus established on Earth through Peter, open to all people.

"the communion of saints,"
All holy people, living and dead, are eternally united in the body of Christ.

"the forgiveness of sins,"
With repentance, all our offenses may be forgiven. We are likewise called to forgive the offenses of those who hurt us.

"the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. "
At the Second Coming, all the dead shall be resurrected and their spirits united with their bodies. We shall live with God in Heaven forever.

"Amen"
In this I believe.

    “He is Risen! Shocks and After Shocks” is the title of an article by Bishop Paul Coakley of the Diocese of Salina in their recent Catholic newspaper The Register. The article addresses the need for hope from recent earthquakes around the world, and hope due to the aftershocks of the priest scandal in the world. I will use portions of his article.

    Bishop Coakley said the recent earthquakes in Haiti, Chile (and now China) set off a series of strong aftershocks. These aftershocks cause a sense of insecurity and fear to those who are trying to rebuild their lives.

    He said, “Like those seismic aftershocks from deep within the earth, recent media coverage of clergy sexual abuse in Europe are painful reminders of our human fragility.”
