Where I live we have 3 Catholic Churches, east side, south side and west side. My parents were married in the east side St Nicholas Catholic Church 57 years ago, Mum was baptised , made her Holy Communion, Confirmed and was married the same day, my brother, sister and I also made our sacraments there and my sister married in that Church and 7 of Mum and Dads grandchildren also Baptised there.
Recently the Priest found out I was divorced 20 years ago and now refuses to give me Holy Communion, thats ok I go to another Church now, and the Priest did not refuse me
The problem is with my Parents, because they live on the south side the Priest told them they have to go to the Church in their area and if one of them dies they cannot have the service in the Church which they have attended for 57 years, Dad recently had a heart attack and cannot go to Church and Mum asked the Priest could someone give them Holy Communion on Sunday and he said no , they have to go the Church in their area
Can a Priest do this, if so they have lost a follower, because I will wash my hands off the Church and leave because this is cruel, is this the law or what?
I am upset that he refused me as well and we have done a lot for this Church
I never remarried because I hold my vows and this is about my Parents not me
~Jezebel~ he is, I do not look to him as a Priest but a man who will talk to you if you have money
Rosco Bagdagowicz my Mother asked for them to comr to their house and the Priest said now, that are not under his Parrish anymore
J I never remarried!
Sorry I meant to say no instead of now, I am pretty upset over this
That is very wrong, the Priest should look after your Parents after 57 years in the Church and stopping you from receiving Holy Communion , to me he sounds like a hypocrite and not a Priest

Hello Christmas celebrators!
A sincere question ^_^
Did the Bible ever say anything regarding Christmas? Because I've been looking and I haven't found anything ._. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong Bible...
I mean I found one verse but it kind criticized the use of dressing a tree in general. "The customs of the people are worthless, they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel, they adore it with silver and gold, they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter" (Jeremiah 10-3,4).
Neither the date 25th Dec. nor any other date on Jesus' birth is mentioned in the Bible. @.@' It was not until the year 530 C.E. that a monk, Dionysus Exigus, fixed the date of Jesus' birth on Dec. 25th...his date was chosen in keeping with the holidays already indoctrinated into pagans beliefs.
Plus did Jesus or the disciples celebrate it? If Jesus meant his followers to celebrate Christmas, he would have practiced it himself and enjoined it on his followers. There is no mention in the entire Bible that any of his followers ever celebrated Jesus' birthday like Christians do today. Now I am really confused...
And Santa Claus is a lloonnggg search on that character. I mean first he's this Nicholas guy in Turkey over in Asia Minor helping the poor, then he becomes a Saint and is worshipped in many churches. After that, the Catholic Church, keen to increase their power and wealth, conspired to steal the bones to make the city a magnet for pilgrims. At the end of the eleventh century, forty seven armed men from Bari set sail for Asia Minor. They overpowered four monks and seized the valued relics of St. Nicholas. The Church agreed to pay the thieves, and then their heirs, a percentage of the offerings, but later the Church reneged on this deal, keeping all the money for itself. Ever since, the Catholic Church has helped to promote an annual festival to celebrate this profitable act of piracy. Plus Santa Claus isn't in the Bible either o_o;
Thanks for reading and I appreciate any and all comments to further my understanding of the background of the Christmas Holidays :]
dear, Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus. it's not just a celebration. it's about celebrating God who sends His only begotten Son to earth to save the people on earth and for sure He's coming back for judgment day. we just have to wait for the day we meet Jesus and ask Him about His real birthdate. we actually can celebrate Christmas everyday. just that they set a date that Christmas can be celebrated throughout the world on the same day. there's no need to be confused about actually.. =) hope i helped and God bless..
oh ya, and santa claus, it's not in the bible. you can't find that anywhere in the bible dear. and the christmas trees are just pretty decorations. =)

The worship and influence of the saints is an anathema to protestant christianity. Luther, after his break with the Catholic church, expressly objected against the celebration of St. Nicholas day. He suggested celebrating christmas instead. Many protestant americans celebrate christmas and not st. Nicholas day but have kept santa claus. Why have you hung on to this saint while it is forbidden by your beliefs?
In Spite of comments by people who are totally clueless Santa Clause exists.
Santa Clause is a guy who dresses up in a red suit with a beard and hands out presents at Christmas.
Every Christmas thousands of people dress up in red suits with Beards and hand out presents at Christmas.
I suppose you would rather people closed their eyes to obvious facts, sticking their heads in the sand like ostriches.
The reality is that if portions of a story are obviously true it is impossible to say that the story is false. At best an objective person can only state that portions of the story remain unproven.
If a person would like to add subjective commentary the words "unlikely" or "improbable" could be added to the statement.
I'm an engineer and I do what people think is impossible quite often.
I also refuse to dismiss obvious data out of hand just because someone tells me something, "Everyone knows Satan Clause is just a story" that disagrees with observable data, I see people dressed up in red suits with beards handing out presents every Christmas.
When the popular assumption and the observable data are conflicting I will side with the observable data every time, even if that data is not commonly or easily reproducible at will. Northern lights below the 45th parallel for example
The "Santa Data" is reproducible however.

Saint Nicholas (Greek: Άγιος Νικόλαος , Agios ["saint"] Nikolaos ["victory of the people"]) (270 - 7 December 346) is the common name for Nicholas of Myra, a saint and Bishop of Myra (Demre, in Lycia, part of modern-day Turkey). Because of the many miracles attributed to his intercession, he is also known as Nicholas the Wonderworker. He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and thus became the model for Santa Claus, whose English name comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas. His reputation evolved among the faithful, as is common for early Christian saints. In 1087, his relics were furtively translated to Bari, in southeastern Italy; for this reason, he is also known as, Nicholas of Bari.
The historical Saint Nicholas is remembered and revered among Catholic and Orthodox Christians. He is also honoured by various Anglican and Lutheran churches. Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, merchants, archers, and children, and students in Greece, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, the Republic of Macedonia, Slovakia, Serbia and Montenegro. He is also the patron saint of Barranquilla, Bari, Amsterdam, Beit Jala, Siggiewi and Liverpool. In 1809, the New-York Historical Society convened and retroactively named Santa Claus the patron saint of Nieuw Amsterdam, the Dutch name for New York City. He was also a patron of the Varangian Guard of the Byzantine emperors, who protected his relics in Bari.
For his help to the poor, Nicholas is the patron saint of pawnbrokers; the three gold balls traditionally hung outside a pawnshop symbolize the three sacks of gold. People then began to suspect that he was behind a large number of other anonymous gifts to the poor, using the inheritance from his wealthy parents. After he died, people in the region continued to give to the poor anonymously, and such gifts were still often attributed to St. Nicholas.
A nearly identical story is attributed by Greek folklore to Basil of Caesarea. Basil's feast day on January 1 is considered the time of exchanging gifts in Greece.
Santa is as real as the gift of unconditional giving, the giving of love hope blessings, the spirit of friends family gathering sharing enjoying one another, Santa is as real as the smile on a child's face, the taste of Chocolate brownies with that special magical ingredient, the sip of hot spiced cider, the cooling warmth of eggnog, the aroma of freshly baked gingerbread, Santa is as real as Snow Angels, the Colts and the Saints going 14 and Oh, the San Fran 49ers kicking the cr^p out of the Cardinals, Joe Lieberman literally telling the people who elected him to drop dead, Liz Cheney defending her Dad as a Great Humanitarian and Patriot (and expert marksman), Santa is as real as the kindness of elderly women giving time to serve soup at a communal kitchen, Santa is as real as the foreclosure of a mortgage putting a family of five on the streets of Cleveland during the depths of Winter, Santa is Real very real.

The Founding Fathers of this country were virtually all Christians. While a few can be found to have written letters expressing opinions on certain hypocracies of the Church or the dangers of religious influences they still consider themselves very religious men who recognize that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Below is a list every single founding father and their religious affiliation. It is the atheists that have invented the "Deist Lie".

But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

The “Staycationing” Priest : Saint Nicholas Episcopal Church ...

The week after Easter has traditionally become the “week off” for many clergy. This guy is no exception. When I was the Assistant Rector at St. Peter’s, Savannah, I usually had to defer to my rector Sam so he could have that week off. But thanks be to God, since I’ve been at St. Nicholas, I finally get this luxury. The season of Lent was particularly busy and somewhat harrowing. Lots of people were sick and in the hospital. We have a fantastic Lenten Series, but one that required a lot of work. Then Holy Week came and while I believe those liturgies are central to our lives as Christians, they are emotionally stimulating and rigorous. Finally, the big day of Easter came, which brought 221 people into the doors of St. Nicholas–a new record! Thanks be to God!
...Info About Christmas Light Ohio » History Of The Christmas Candy Cane

Few people know the history of Christmas Celebrations and Traditions. The idea to celebrate Christmas on December 25th dates back to the 4th century. The Catholic Church wanted to eclipse the festivities of a rival pagan religion that threatened Christianity’s existence.
Romans celebrated the birth of their sun god, Mithras that time of year. Although, it was not popular, or even proper, to celebrate people’s birthdays in those times, church leaders decided that in order to compete with the pagan sun god celebration they would organize a festival in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Facts not withstanding, Jesus’ birth is thought to be in the spring, December 25th was chosen as the official birth celebration as Christ’s Mass so that it would compete head on with the rival pagan celebration.
