Traditional Cath. Church, meaning, the priest officiates the mass facing the altar and some of the women hearing the mass wear veil. I heard that there is one in New Manila (or nearby) that celebrates the mass the old traditional way and runs by Swiss monks.

How are other church services like Lutheran, Episcopal, Baptist, and Evangelical services differ from a Traditional Catholic church service?
The Anglican and Episcopal churches themselves are the closest Protestant equivalents to the Catholic Church, although the Methodists do share some similarities, too. They differ from the Catholics mainly in that they do not recognize the authority of the sitting Pope as any other than a priest--no holier or better than others. There are other theological differences, as well, such as the ability of priests to marry and less emphasis on the veneration of saints.

My husband and I recently got married by the courthouse. We did this because we knew we wanted to get married and thought it would be best since I need to get health insurance and it would be beneficial. We are both Catholic and having our marriage blessed in the church is extremely important to us and our family. I was wondering do I continue to have bridesmaids and do the ceremony like a wedding? I don't know what is traditonal. If you have experience let me know. Thank you!
Hi Ashley and congratulations!
Before you take anyone's advice on here, you need to call your priest and speak with him!! What is or is not allowed could vary by parish. But, here is what I know from doing a little research and being Catholic myself. Usually a blessing of the marriage (called a validation ceremony) is NOT viewed as a wedding. It is a small ceremony with usually some family present.
I cannot say this strongly enough....but you need to call your local church/priest. The reason I say this is because a while back (on this forum)...perhaps about 6 months ago, a girl was in a real pickle about her "blessing" ceremony. The reason was because she did not specifically ask her priest what was appropriate and not appropriate. She had numerous bridesmaids/groomsmen, aisle runner, flowers, etc. etc. all in place, and THEN she questioned the priest about a month before and he said "absolutely none of that is permitted." So....she was left in a real pickle as to what to do.
So...it's best to go right to the source and call your priest. Good luck and congratulations!
I am a Catholic and think there may be Traditional High Church Anglicans that may wish to join the Catholic Church. However this would be because they believe that the Catholic church is the true Church that Jesus founded and nothing to do with how Mass is celebrated. In my Diocese there are Traditional Masses celebrated as well as the newer rite. We also have four priests who were Anglican priests and have converted and are now Catholic priests. We will also have another ordination of another former Anglican priest in a couple of months.
God bless
it seems like all churches are modern catholic, where the priests homilies are basicly saying that just be a good person and just being a catholic can get you to heaven. i cant stand it. it all started with the 2nd vatican, i would say, anyways, i just want to know if there are any traditional catholic churches in toronto

what do you do with religious articles?
My mother and I get a ton of religious articles from various shrines/religious orders we donate money to... St. Anne, St. Padre Pio, St. Anthony & St. Therese/Little Flower. Each of these organizations send a multitude of prayer cards, booklets, rosaries, rosary rings, medals, etc. etc. etc... with each donation, I enclose a note to please keep the articles - but they send them anyway. First, does anyone know if these are blessed before they are mailed out, and if so, how do you discard blessed items? Its not that they aren't lovely, but one can only have so many of them. I usually leave some in the vestibule at church or in the Adoration chapel, but I'm not sure this is too welcome... anyone know of somewhere...
Newsweek: White kids are born racist
White children who got the full story about historical discrimination had significantly better attitudes toward blacks than those who got the neutered version. Explicitness works. "It also made them feel some guilt," Bigler adds. "It knocked down their glorified view of white people." They couldn't justify in-group superiority. That leads to the question that everyone wonders but rarely dares to ask. If "black pride" is good for African-American children, where does that leave white children? It's horrifying to imagine kids being "proud to be white." Yet many scholars argue that's exactly what children's brains are already computing. Just as minority children are aware that they belong to an ethnic group with less status and wealth,...
