Funny that you say that, I have gone to school there from gr.7 - gr.10(I'm in grade 10) In my opinion it's a great school, very wealthy and has very good school programs including focus programs in subjects like Web Design, Photography and some trades. The facilities in the school like gymnasiums are very modern and are kept in tip top shape all the time. Lots of after school programs like band, soccer, and hockey teams are present. They have a unique program called "Hockey Skills" which offers a credited class that develops fitness and skills within hockey. Any career path you are going ot attend can be focused on in the school. In my opinion, it is a great school and you should consider attending the school if you want to further your education in any of the subjects your are inerested in. By the way, there's no uniforms as some may stereotype catholic schools this way.

It used to be that years ago holy days were made to be days off from catholic school so that kids will be able to go to Mass for that day. This day and age the schools are realizing that these kids are not doing that anymore so are deciding to bring back these days as part of school. All Saints Day, The Assumption.. are examples of these days.
Of course parents and kids are complaining that they want or need the days off. Do you think they should remain closed for school or have them back to school as the kids don't use them for Mass.
Years ago, more moms were at home, too. Not the case today.
The majority of Catholic schools share a campus with, or are otherwise very near, the parish church -- and students can go to Mass on holy days as a part of the school day. Most in my area go in groups to the mid-morning and/or noon Masses.
If it's left up to the kids whether to go or not, of course, they probably won't -- day off, or no day off. But if it's expected of them by the school AND their parents, they will.

All Saints Catholic School hosts a program by which parents may request the opportunity to serve as a “host” family for the Pilgrim Virgin Statue. Those who participate receive a statue of the Blessed Mother at the school and enshrine it in their home for a week. The program provides a wonderful opportunity for families to gather for daily prayer, remembering their own intentions as well as those of our school and parish community. The program also serves to strengthen the unity of our community as the statue travels from home to home throughout the year. Any families interested in learning more about the program or who wish to sign up for a week are asked to contact Mrs. Myra Hayde at 703-331-0714.

This week I wish to share with you important news about changes in staffing for the upcoming school year. Mr. Richardson, middle school math teacher, has decided that he will not return to teach at All Saints next year. While he continues to recover from surgery and remains in good health at this time, he has decided to pursue other opportunities during the 2010-2011 academic year.
I am pleased to announce that Miss Joanna McCullough will be the new middle school math teacher at All Saints beginning in August. During the current year, she has served as fourth grade teacher and, as such, is already familiar with diocesan and school procedures. As you may recall, Miss McCullough joined the All Saints faculty last summer after graduating from Franciscan University with an undergraduate degree in education and a concentration in middle school math and social studies. After speaking with and interviewing a number of candidates, I recognize Miss McCullough as the best candidate and the one who will take the program to new heights. Her mastery of the curriculum, coupled with her demonstrated ability to engage all of the learners in her classroom, will further advance the program and our students’ understanding of math.
