It used to be that years ago holy days were made to be days off from catholic school so that kids will be able to go to Mass for that day. This day and age the schools are realizing that these kids are not doing that anymore so are deciding to bring back these days as part of school. All Saints Day, The Assumption.. are examples of these days.
Of course parents and kids are complaining that they want or need the days off. Do you think they should remain closed for school or have them back to school as the kids don't use them for Mass.
Years ago, more moms were at home, too. Not the case today.
The majority of Catholic schools share a campus with, or are otherwise very near, the parish church -- and students can go to Mass on holy days as a part of the school day. Most in my area go in groups to the mid-morning and/or noon Masses.
If it's left up to the kids whether to go or not, of course, they probably won't -- day off, or no day off. But if it's expected of them by the school AND their parents, they will.

Speak to your grandmother. She obviously loves you. Do not wait for her to ask you again. She probably has no reason to believe that you have changed your mind. Ask her nicely as I think that you would anyway.
Good luck.

its not with the school...its with you...it is you who matters---
look, your studying in the best school in town but then you're not helping yourself...
the success of a student depends with himself...
do not consider if that school is the best school, consider yourself...if you can and if you could go with the flow...

Manchester#39;s Assumption Catholic School In Financial Trouble ...
MANCHESTER — — A local Catholic school is in deep financial trouble, and parents and school staff are scrambling to find solutions to keep the doors open.
Assumption School, which serves pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students, will end this fiscal year with a deficit of more than $200,000, the Rev. Kevin Cavanaugh, Church of the Assumption pastor, said Wednesday.
Cavanaugh has scheduled meetings on Sunday with parents and other parishioners to discuss the situation and how to respond. The meetings are slated for 2 to 3:30 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the church hall, 29 S. Adams St.
The most pressing problem is low enrollment, Cavanaugh said. Current total enrollment is 147 students, and the school needs at least 175, not including pre-schoolers, Cavanaugh said. Part of the reason for the low enrollment is that area residents can choose two other Catholic elementary/middle schools in Manchester, St. Bridget School and St. James School, he said.
