And should i have certain prayers memorized and how do i know when to make sign of the cross or to genuflect? And do i let the water father puts on my forehead run down my face, or wipe it off a little? and how to you bend over to do that? Just bend over and put your head to the side? I am nervous about doing this in front of the entire church and don't know how to act or what is expected of me.
When I was baptized at age 38, I simply bowed over the baptismal font (hands in prayer) and turned my face to the side. Father used a little pitcher of holy water, which he poured across my forehead three times, and then as I straightened up, he handed me a small white towel to press against my forehead so I wouldn't drip.
Our font was off to the side, so only a few people could really see me.
For the baptism itself, you don't need to know anything other than "Amen" and the sign of the cross. You genuflect when you walk up to the front (facing the tabernacle) if your font is up front. If your font is in the rear, you don't genuflect.

I am new to the faith and I will be attending a Catholic baptism, marriage and funeral all within a week's time..(my life is crazy) and I kinda want to see written the ceremonies so I kinda know what to expect. Each denomination has their own accepted wording. Protestants are likely to be more relaxed about deviation from the script.
I've been asked to be the godmother to my cousins baby, but I'm not exactly sure what I am supposed to do in regards to the actual Baptism ceremony.
Hi there! As a Godmother of 3, USUALLY the responsibilty of the godmother is to buy the gown, now I said USUALLY. That's what my family does, and other's so I've heard. And then at the Church, all you really do is stand there with the parents. The parents hold the baby while they are being baptized. So you really don't have to do much. Just alot of standing around and waiting for it to be over so you can go to the party afterwards. LOL
How long is a Catholic baptism ceremony outside of mass for a baby? I know that with mass it's about 1 hr 15 mins. Also, what is included and excluded (e..g communion) in one vs the other.
depends on how many children will be baptized - usually about 30 minutes.
My husband and I are baptising my neice. Its a traditional Mexican Catholic ceremony. I know my husband should wear a suit but how formal of a dress should I wear and does the color matter?
Just wear a dress like you would to church. i don't think the color matters just wear what dress you want.
