Catholic confirmation?
Retro Save the Date Olive Oil favors

I'm not getting confirmed since I'm not Catholic, but a lot of people in my grade I know are. I was just wondering if there's certain things you can't do after being confirmed, like no drinking, no sex until marrige (no, I'm not interested in that, I'm just wondering how confirmation works.), no lying, or..yeah, lol.

<<I was just wondering if there's certain things you can't do after being confirmed, like no drinking, no sex until marriage>>

Catholics and all Christians, are not to have sex outside of marriage. Catholics can drink but should not drink to excess...like getting drunk.

But this is for all Catholics, not just those who are confirmed.

Confirmation is when a young person takes on the Christian faith as their own. Growing up they live the faith of their parents, at their confirmation they are sealed with the Holy Spirit and become a true Christian in every sense of the word. They are commissioned to live their faith in the world and help bring others to know Christ.

Ok i have a question on confirmation. can some1 please tell me 4 things why i should be confirmed in the catholic religion! Please I need some ideas!

* it roots us more deeply in the divine filiation [as sons of God]
* it unites us more firmly to Christ;
* it increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us;
* it renders our bond with the Church more perfect;
* it gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly, and never to be ashamed of the Cross.

would it be weird if a 16 year old guy asked a like 20 year old woman to be his sponsor for the confirmation ceremony?
this woman has honestly always been there for me every since i was little. she is the nicest person ever. i tell her everything and anything.

Not at all, if fact a sponsor should be somebody you know well and trust. Of course, they must also be at least 16 yo ( not an issue is her case) and must be a practising Catholic. Sounds like you have made a thoughtful choice.

What to wear to my catholic confirmation?
Hot Sauce Wedding Favors

I know it has to be more conservative. I have been told that in the past its usually a white dress with sleeves but that is hard to find. What do you have to wear for a catholic confirmation? Please attach links with websites that have white dresses if so. Thanks!

I don't know what country you're from. I am from the UK and people just tend to wear something formal and not to revealing something classy that you wouldn't mind a preist seeing you in and you wouldnt get funny looks from people. I'm 13 and am making mine in a couple of months. Mine is quite high fashion but very formal and i'm gonna be quite covered up. These are like the 10 commandments on the sort of dresscode i would stick to for it.
Nothing too revealing
gentle make up
No wild hair
something classy and elegant
No super high heels
fashionable but still simple
no extremely bright colours
make an effort
treat it as a special occasion
nothing to OTT

If you still want to go with something with white in it, you could wear a black pencil high waisted skirt with something like this tucked into it because its still high fashion but suitable for church lol

then team it with TONS of chunky jewelery and add some low heels. but if this isnt to your liking go with just the dresscode and make it up yourself.

What type of gift should you get someone to celebrate their Catholic Confirmation?
BBQ Our Love is Tasty wedding favors

My friend is going to have her Catholic Confirmation in a few months, and has invited me to be there. I asked if a gift would be appropriate, and she said yes, but I'm not exactly sure what to get her. I'm not Catholic, so I have no idea what would be expected. Any suggestions?

While I'm not a religious person myself, I have total respect for other peoples religion and I'm disgusted by some of the answers you have got.

Peoples faith is very important to them and if you don't share it, don't knock it.

There are plenty of gift ideas on the web, this is just one with some lovely ideas for you.

  • Catholic Gifts – Ideas for Baptism and More: A Guide to Religious ...

    Within the Catholic Church, there are seven sacraments. While some, such as the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick, may be celebrated individually, most are community events. Family and friends often join together to commemorate occasions such as baptism, first communion and confirmation.

    It is not uncommon for gifts to be bestowed upon the person receiving the sacrament. However, it can be difficult to find the perfect item to mark these important events. Below are some suggestions for Catholic gift-giving as well as unique gifts.

    Catholic Baptism Gifts

    At baptism, original sin is removed, and a person formally enters into the Catholic Church. Although baptism can occur at any time, most Catholic parents have their children baptized as infants. Since Catholic baby gifts are not always easy to find, many baptismal gifts are intended for either future use or as a remembrance of the day.

    RCIA 382-392: Baptism and Confirmation « Catholic Sensibility

    And that’s it. The missing rite numbers offer rubrics, and we’ll look at those, too.

    Renunciation/Profession is part of every baptism except in cases of absolute emergency. The minister may use the threefold renunciation or ask for the rejection of “Satan … his works … his empty promises” in one question. The rubric of RCIA 382 allows for “pertinent adaptations,” referring to the renunciation of false worship given in RCIA 72.

    RCIA 383 gives two options: the Apostle’s Creed by Q&A and the same text by simple profession. Baptism follows immediately. The optional anointing after baptism is omitted, obviously, if confirmation follows. A deacon may anoint but not confirm. A lay person may baptize, but not anoint.
