catholic daily prayer

I'd like if you could share some prayer tips . How do you begin the day with prayer? What is your prayer method throughout the day? Any devotions you particularly like to say on any day of the week? What kind of prayers do you pray throughout the day and at night that keeps you focussed on God? Thanks

You might try using the Divine Office/Liturgy of the Hours. A very good way to ease into that is by using a publication called The Magnificat (http://www.magnificat.net/us/indexus.htm ).

My children and I use the Magnificat for morning prayers each morning; then we try to pray again at 9 am and 10 am (we homeschool). Turthfully, sometimes those 9 and 10 am prayers (usually Psalms but I use those prayer times for memorizing scriptures/prayers so it varies) get skipped unless I am wearing my alarm clock. At 11:15 we pray again (the Angelus) and read the day's scriptures for Mass (and once during the week we go to Mass at that time). At 3 pm we observe the hour of Divine Mercy with one of the divine mercy payers and we pray a decade of a scriptural rosary together. I encourage my children to do evening prayers on their own and they usually pray the rosary before going to sleep. I usually pray some Psalms and the rosary or Divine Mercy chaplet before sleep. Of course we pray throughout the day for meals, etc.

I am hoping that as my children get older we'll be able to incorporate all of the Liturgy of the Hours into our daily schedule.

What are some morning, afternoon (lunchtime), and prayers to say before bed? What I mean by "prayers" I mean, prayers for a Catholic teenager. Thanks

This is a ancient prayer of the church, the pope says this daily with the people. "The Angelus" is a Christian devotion in memory of the Incarnation.
To be said at 6am, 12pm, and 6pm

It is good that you are not anymore Catholic. Begin now to search for the true Religion. The prayer "OUR FATHER" is written in the bible, that prayer is the example of Jesus. The Catholics prays that, however it contradict their doctrines.
The Catholic doctrine says that "God the Father is everywhere" but if you analyze the prayer , God is in Heavens, now how can be God is everywhere, no verses can be found that God is everywhere.

Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
When Catholic prays this, they are still waiting for the kingdom that will happen to earth. The kingdom they are praying will not come to catholic because they are Popedom, their teaching is from Vatican from their leaders. Christians aware that the kingdom is already exist where the Ruler is God the Father and the Son.

Pray, read the bible, refrain from vices or any immoral so that the Spirit of GOD will come to you and make you understand the verses of the bible.

Yes, he did. Its was written in the Bible of the 1300"s to the middle of the 1900" . Today its mention alittle. From the gospels. Jesus did wishes the bad people as they should have done penance long ago, so that they can avoid everlasting kingdom of Hell. If you to pray and do daily penance. Fr. W Young suggest as you can offer 10 Hail Mary daily for pray and penance for the complete restoration for traditional latin mass everywhere for the salvation of those who need this mass as the Pope is in favor of it but there are people who are against it. This prayer and penance daily will heal the wounds of hate in their heart and allowing people and priests to attend the traditional latin mass daily with equal right and freedom. Today,most of priests and etc do not talk about prayer and penance anymore
If you want to do daily penance and prayer as you can, this will get your whole self on the narrow road into everlasting life. This what many Roman Catholic doctors and saints have taught.
