Catholic Doctrine?
Roman Centurion -Wood Image 1

It has recently come to my attention that it is against the roman catholic doctrine that even married couples are not to partake in the act of oral sex. I'm a roman catholic and I want to get married one day so I was wondering, are there any other rules in the catholic doctrine that say what a married couple can't do when they partake in the sacred act of love?

(any answers that say anything against my faith in christ will be reported)
I'm not saying oral sex is sacred I said that sex the way God intended it to be is sacred, I'm asking what a married man and woman can and cannot do together according to God' law

It is my understanding that the Church accepts this as a method of foreplay--as long as it leads to intercourse. It is not to be a sex act in itself. (Of course for married couples only.)

Oral Sex alone is viewed the same way as birth control is viewed by the church. There is no way of procreation--therefore it is considered wrong by the church.

Why do Christians who disbelieve Catholic doctrine live their life by the Bible?
Wood Centurion -Image 2

that is a collection books from the Torah and post Jesus letters and accounts that were chosen by the Catholic Church. Why do protestants believe this Catholic book but not Catholic doctrine or dogma?

Your question poses a dilemna for Protestants. They think the Church never had authority, including proving inspiration (not just assuming it) and the final compilation of the Holy Books at the Synod of Hippo in 393 AD. If the Church had no authority, then the books of the Bible must have gathered together with "true believers" reaching a consenses by the Holy Spirit telling each individual leader with no required authority. This theory is absured.

Historical revisionism takes the place of historical facts, because if they admit the Catholic Church had the authority from God to compile the Bible in the forth century, then they must admit the Church's authority comes from Christ Himself. They have to admit there is more to Divine Revelation that the written word alone. The authority of scripture is a Sacred Tradition of the Church.

The early Christians had no Bibles for 300 years becuase there was no such thing as a Bible as we know it. So what was their authority? Private interpretation? It didn't work well for Arius.

Revised history makes up lies about the history of the Bible for the sole purpose of discrediting the authority of the Church, although they inconsistently make no mention of the fact that their New Testament has the same list of books that the Church made canon.

Canon 29 of the Synod of Hippo (393 AD) made the first list of books, including the ones that Martin Luther threw out because they didn't suit his opinions.

What is the one basic Catholic doctrine?
Roman Centurion -Wood Carving, Rex Stewart

My notes say that the one basic Catholic doctrine is, "if God were an indefinitely loving God, he would get up some definite channel for saving mankind."

But this doesn't really make perfect sense; can someone clear up what this might have meant to say?

Your notes are wrong. I am a Bible scholar and ex-monk.

Your notes imply necessity. It is a consistent Christian teaching that God is under no necessity whatsoever in the Creation or the Redemption.

God is Love, and He so loved the world that He sent His only-begotten Son. But it isn't love if God had to do it, no choice whatsoever.

The two central doctrines of Christianity are the Incarnation and the Trinity.

What is the difference between the Baptist and Catholic doctrine of being "saved"?
A memorial and a reminder - on Explore

I've been to many Baptist Churches & they make a big deal out of being "saved". I, being a Catholic, have ever understood the point of the "altar call". Can someone please explain the difference between the two doctrines... Being Catholic, I know we don't make a big deal out of being "saved", but make a big deal about the Baptism.

The Catholic Answers website explains it better than I can and the conclusion of the linked article is here:

"Don’t you wish you had the assurance of salvation?" Evangelicals and Fundamentalists think they do have such an absolute assurance.

All they have to do is "accept Christ as their personal Savior," and it’s done. They might well live exemplary lives thereafter, but living well is not crucial and definitely does not affect their salvation.

......

"Are you saved?" asks the Fundamentalist. The Catholic should reply: "As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:18, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."

I am studying Catholic doctrine and I have a question about man's freedom?
Ancient Catholic temple

I am currently studying Catholic doctrines. I have a question though about man's freedom.

If God knows our past, present and future, isn't that pre-destenation?

Isn't that a violation of our freedom?

Please site bible verses about your answers. Thank you.

while He knows -- He allows us to make our own choices. the end result - when we are back with Him is what is important. if you notice in Scriptures we are told that some sins will be forgiven in this life and basically the others will be metted in fire in the next. God knows where we will make mistakes and like a good parents -- He allows whose mistakes as we have to learn from our choices.

that isn't a violation OF freedom - it's an expression of love and trust.

This week, under the category of “news that made me say WTF!” was this little story about students at Georgetown University taping their mouths and chaining themselves to a statue in front of the school in protest of the fact the Georgetown doesn’t provide or help to provide contraceptive options like condoms to it’s students. The school, a private Catholic university stands by the religious policies of the Catholic church under which it was founded and refuses to provide any contraception that prevents the creation of life. Leadership Ethics Online: The Pope, Sex Scandals, Moral ...

One of the hottest debates today among Roman Catholics is whether or not the current Pope, Benedict XVI, has any responsibility for helping hide or inadequately manage clergy sexual abuses prior to his elevation to the Chair of Peter.  For Christians not Catholic, for members of other religious faiths, and for millions with no faith at all, the facts of widespread clergy sexual abuse, high dollar court awards to victims, and the general scandal of crimes against children by people who allege to be God's representatives and custodians, there is great disagreement as whether the subject is more a horror or a freak show. At the risk of incurring severe criticism on myself for what follows, particularly as a non-Catholic, nevertheless, the average person following the news deserves some facts. ...
