Any Catholic dvds useful for evangelization?
#243 belmondo absolvo

hi, i was just wondering if anyone was aware of any Catholic DVD's that could be used to evangelize. Something that maybe covered the topic of miracles or any other proofs or arguments of the Catholic Church?

Of course we evangelize!

I can recommend a DVD that is extremely well-done and explains the Mass, "The Catholic Mass -- Revealed". Here's one online source (with a link to see a preview) and there are probably others: http://www.catholiccompany.com/product_d etail.cfm?ID=15309&category=17

CDs are available from the Mary Foundation on a variety of subjects, recorded by well-known Catholic apologists and teachers such as Fr. John Corapi, Scott Hahn, Fr. Larry Richards, etc. They can be ordered individually or in bulk.

any Catholic dvds on miracles?
The Wave by Lucinda Naylor

hi, i was just wondering if anyone was aware of any Catholic DVD's that covered the topic of miracles... in saying that i am specifically looking for something that isn't focused on one particular miracle, but covers a wide range of them, such as Our Lady Of Guadalupe, Eucharistic miracles, Apparitions, Stigmata, etc.????

Catholic DVD would be a miracle!

What is the difference between Roman Catholic and Gnostic Catholic Church?
The Wave by Lucinda Naylor

I never new there was a such thing as the Gnostic Catholic Church until just a couple of days ago. I was watching a DVD from the Prophecy Club where the man giving his testimony said he was a former bishop of the Gnostic Catholic Church in Iowa or Wisconsin. I was just wondering what the difference was between the two segments of Catholicism. Please give me as many details as possible. Thanks.
If the Gnostics are a cult, what do they teach that is different than what the Romans teach? Theoretically, one could say that the Roman Catholics are a cult as well. Please help me understand how they differ.

The Roman Catholic Church, or Catholic Church, is the Christian Church led by the Pope, the Bishop of Rome, currently His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.

It has defined itself as "the Catholic Church, which is governed by the successor of Peter" — i.e. the Pope — "and the bishops in communion with him" [1]. It teaches that it is the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Jesus for the salvation of all people.

Gnostic Catholic Church, is the ecclesiastical arm of Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO), an international fraternal initiatory organization devoted to promulgating the Law of Thelema. Thelema is the religious and philosophical system established by Aleister Crowley in 1904. The term "Catholic", of course, indicates "universal", as it does in the names of those Christian churches that use it.

Does anyone know if they plan to bring the ''Nothing Sacred'' tv series to DVD?
The Wave

Nothing Sacred was an ABC tv show (1997-1998) about a catholic parish priest (Kevin Anderson) and the goings on at St-Thomas parish. The show was cancelled after the Catholic League pressured sponsors to boycott the show. ABC caved in, and we lost a really good show.

Renard - I am sorry to say but it has NOT come out on DVD. They seem to be having the same problem with the Catholic League...they don't want it released on DVD either. Too Bad because it was a GREAT show!

My daughter so a cover of a porno dvd?
The Artist

My 5 year old daughter went to my next door neightbour to play with her 3 and 7 year old daughters. The 7 year old one is a compulsive lier and cant stop being nousy about everything. Next thing their mum came round to tell me that louise, her oldest daughter climbed some shelves and got hold of the dvd and she caught them looking at the cover. I cant describe what it was in it, it was too much. The question is should i talk to my daughter and ask her what she saw and find out what she thinks? She goes to a catholic school and the last thing i want is her talking to her friends about it and being heard by here teacherss
Sandy 439: You dont have to live with her coming to your house every afternoon. I give her chances, i do, and ive tried to talk to her about the rules if she wants to play in my house. I want to prevent my kids to be like her. Every single time she says "i didnt do it! (name) did it!". She is a nice person when we chat, she is lovely, but i think she doesnt het much attention at home. Thats why she comes to mine to play with my kids. And i made up her name.

YES! You should definitly talk to her. I know it's uncomfortable but think of it as the first step in having a open relationship with your daughter. Innocent as she is now, someday she'll go thru all the boy crazy stuff we all did and it is so wonderful for a daughter to be able to ask her mom stuff instead of having to rely on the hearsay of her peers. Plus it will give you a chance to talk to her about telling you if anyone ever touches her innappropriatly which in our day and age is such an important conversation!

  • Frugal Catholic Mommy: Free Pull-Ups Potty Training DVD

Our youngest (the wannabe nudist ) will be 3 in a couple of months, and we're trying to work with her on using the potty, but it is very hit or miss.  Honestly, I am very UN-worried about it.  She's our fourth, and I remember worrying about our oldest and hearing people comment "she's still in diapers?!?" on her third birthday.  With her, it was like flicking a switch.  One day a month or so after her birthday, she just did it.  I really think most kids just do it when they are ready, whether at 18 months or at age 3.

Proof BBC Scotland is anti-Catholic but loves the Orange Lodge ...

The sketch in question is one where the Burnistoun branch of the lodge decides to undergo a rebranding exercise – Orange is now too associated with the phone company and Order sounds too militant – with hilarious results. I hear that the sketch was the highlight of the preview night where the Burnistoun team carried out preview screenings, so I was looking forward to it.

Robert , Kirsty and the gang had already shown that they could easily shoot down some sacred cows – their gags with Jesus/God and Jesus as a DJ and the Virgin Mary in a drug sketch had shown they could be really funny.

Now I’m as lapsed a Catholic as they come (and now well in Agnostic territory), so I found the above hilarious, and I was looking forward to the Lodge sketch as well (I’ve got mates in the Lodge. It’s not my thing, but if they want to do it, fair play) because if you start poking fun at one set of sacred cows, all of them have to be fair play. And the Burnistoun team are funny.
