My child has been baptised into the C of E but I want her to have a Catholic education. The school I am considering will take baptised Catholics as a priority. Any suggestions as to what I can do?
Convert yourselves to the Catholic religion, its never too late. Get her baptized and wah lah!
My daughters Catholic school, does accept outsiders but for a higher fee and yes they do not have priority.

like, what does a Catholic education give u and how do u value it?
seriously answer the question if u have one please! don't just say "it doesn't bring u anyting". I need a serious answer.
In a Catholic school, you are likely to get a much better foundation in the academic "basics" of reading, language, mathematics and (yes) science. By daily prayer, learning the faith, and service to others, you also learn that life is not all about what you get but what you give.
I have three children, ( 6,5,2 ) and I wish that they would have a Catholic education. Unfortunately I cannot pay $5000 a year to send them. Are their any grants that can help me with paying for this type of education. I just want my childrent to grow up with a good moral foundation and faith.
i need some points so i can ask some questions.
i am allpying to a catholic school called strake jesuit. However, they are asking me how a catholic education will help me mature and grow over the next four years of going there. can you please please give me three topics of how the catholic education will help me mature and grow over the next four years?
Persona;y I don't think its doing any good on going to a strict religious environment for studies. However if you are interested to get admission you can not say my likings. Rather you should say -
1. You do not know much about catholic system however looking at few catholic people in your known circle, their lifestyle has impressed you a lot. Therefore you want to know it.
2. Studying in a catholic school gives better learning and more systematic approach to gather knowledge.
3. In catholic school the administration is very strict. Therefore less of almost zero incidence of sex related relations. Less distraction - more learning.
How has having a catholic education made and will continue to make a difference in your life?
Its overt and subliminal reinforcement of hierarchical systems has indelibly marked me and many in Irish society... I feel like the stained index finger on the hand of a chronic smoker.
Maybe its that Catholic educators and those who have truck with the system cant eschew the inherently right-wing sentiment in its structure. Its so Patriarchal and patronising- the priests are the ministers of the flock, only they have authority to interpret the will of god?
And so much hypocrisy... Never will I forgive those teachers who spoke of the evils of sin from one side of their mouth while terrorising and intimidating impressionable children from the other. The evils of sex? Contraception? God help those of us who believed what we were told...
And all this was seeded throughout our legitimate education, how were we expected to separate objective fact from the dogmatic infusions of the zealots..? The entire system is skewed from the outset.
It will continue to make a difference in my life in that I will never abide by the prating and demagoguery of mob-orators who extract their views on human morality from supernatural sources!! It has given me a deep seated mistrust of any who propose to speak on behalf of 'good' and 'right'. Its a beneficial distrust I suppose... But I heap scorn on catholic education for scarring my youthful idealism with stupid impracticalities
What type of moral society can be forged through this?

I am not Catholic, but my parents are wanting to apply to Madonna University (Michigan). I resent the idea that there are religious overtones associated with it. How common is the education there, if you have graduated from this university? Is it more like the secular schools, but only with a history of being established by the Catholics? What can you tell me about this? Thanks for your help!
Down Syndrome: On Holy Ground
As part of its "More Alike than Different" Campaign, the National Down Syndrome Congress has been sponsoring an online poster contest. Parents were asked to submit photos of their children with Down Syndrome, along with a caption along the lines of, "Who's a better baseball player, you or me?" or "Who's a better big sister, you or me?" This was intended to highlight the ways in which our Down Syndrome children are human beings deserving respect, like everyone else. The posters could be downloaded to raise awareness in the participants' communities, and the three posters that won the most votes would become part of the national awareness campaign. Enthusiasm ran high; hundreds of parents of children with Down Syndrome submitted photos capturing all of the beauty and diverse talents of those...
