I am in Ontario where Catholic schools are publicly funded. I know non-Catholics can go to Catholic High Schools, but what about Elementary schools?
Thanks :)
Hello! I live in a small town in Ontario and I know of some children who go to a Catholic Elememtary School even though they are not Catholic. They were accepted because of the low enrollment of Catholic children. Catholic children get first choice, at least this is what was told to me by the children's parents. If you would like proof of this contact the Catholic School for verification. I hope this helps!

Hello, my husband is Catholic and we are considering sending our child to private Catholic school when he is old enough to attend. Does anyone have any idea of how much it costs now ? We live in California in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Thanks !
It depends on the school. If you check their websites out, they will sometimes have the tuition costs listed. Also, ask if you qualify for scholarships!

My daughter wants to go to a public highschool and is coming from a catholic elementary school but public highschools take public feeder schools first and if there is room my daughter may have a spot. If she doesn't what happens then? Should I apply to both catholic and public in case?
10 points for best answerr!!
It seems like you are talking about a selective public school.
I think your daughter won't mind the Catholic secondary school in preference to the general public school.
Friendships are very important in the second year of high school for girls, so she can have about a year to test it out first.

say for example, the kindergartner had a younger sibling at the same school (ie kindercare, the goddard school, etc.) so it made more sense. but perhaps you wanted to enroll your child in a private/catholic school because you wanted them to continue on with a private education. at the same time, the public school wasn't really that bad
i'd love your inputs please!
Private education is just as good as public and vice versa. I sent both my children to a private preschool and morning kindergarten and they did afternoon kindergarten at a public school. From grade one up they were at a public school.
Im trying to find out what good catholic schools there are in Oakland.
I'm not sure what the best ones are because i dont live in Oakland but here are some:

Fundraiser accused of duping Mass. Catholic school into believing ...
&Mdash; For the Venerini Sisters, it seemed like the answer to their prayers: An anonymous donor, lined up by a professional fundraiser, willing to give at least $3 million to finance an expansion of a private school run by the order of Roman Catholic nuns.
The would-be benefactor, known only by his first name of Arthur, chatted amiably on the telephone with school administrators. And although no money exchanged hands, trust — or perhaps naivete — led the nuns to hire a general contractor and begin construction on the project at the Venerini Academy in Worcester. The work would stop months later when it become clear there was no money — and no Arthur, Attorney General Martha Coakley said.
"It was an extraordinary story of faith ... without much to back it up," Coakley said Thursday in announcing the arrest of the fundraiser, Michael Hlady, of Greenville, R.I.
