Is there a universal way to call a preacher/father of ANY church?

whether its Lutheran, Catholic, or Any other church.
For instance, one wishes to send greeting cards to the reverands of all churches in the community. What would be the correct way to start the card, assuming that there will be many different religions? (Dear Father?... Dear Reverand?...)
thanks a lot!!!
PS the best answerer will be chosen and granted with the sincere "thank you" ! :)

At the True Christian Church I attend he is just plain (Mister) Jim Gaetz.

We are ALL EQUAL before Jesus/God.

Other groups -- Reverend pretty well always fits.

For people who don't celebrate Christmas.?

How does it feel to celebrate Kwanzaa or Chanukah and whatever you may celebrate when most of the world is Catholic and celebrates Christmas. On the radio, you will hear mostly Christmas songs and no other holiday songs. Or on greeting cards, there will be a lot of Merry Christmas cards, but possibly no Happy Chanukah or Happy Kwanzaa.
Okay I got my facts wrong.
33% of the world is Christain
Not all Christians celebarte Christmas
And not all people who aren't Christians don't celebrate Christmas.

Happy now! :)

eh i don't celebrate christmas or chaunukah or kwanzaa, i'm atheist...so...ya... ( i do celebrate chinese new year, but thts around late january and early february...)

I am against valentines Day my cause is below, do u have a cause to support that?

What is the harm in celebrating 'Valentine day' ?

1. There is no scientific or any cultural basis to this day.
2. As the so called priest Valentine himself was involved in the anti-national acts during his time, then how one can get any benefit by celebrating the day in his name?
3. On this day young girls and boys come together at pubs, sea shores, hotels, colleges etc and indulge in indecent acts. A common person finds it difficult to even go around such places at this time. Some organisations even organize such programs where the young boys and girls can stay together.
4. The young students of schools and colleges are falling prey to such culture and express their love to each other by way of exchanging greeting cards. But actually speaking it is not love but only an attraction to the opposite sex at a tender and immature age.
5. There are several examples of such mentally ill patients available with Psychiatrists who have stuck to their mental illness by 'proposing' on 'Valentine Day'.
6. It has long lasting bad effect on any youth's career and also on the society.
7. The seeds are planted on this day to grow up and cause the destabilization of society through fall in morality.
8. We can know about direct attacks from outside enemy but cultural invasion is very difficult to detect and even some times difficult to defend ourselves from its evil results.
9. Cultural derailment always takes the society towards destruction which is being experienced in our Bharat (India) today.
10. Many western countries do not celebrate this day. 'Calendar of Roman Catholic Saints' was prepared in 1969. 'Valentine's Day' was omitted from the general Roman calendar. If this is so then why should we value this day in our Hindustan?
11. The western custom put the parents in 'old age home' and then celebrate showy 'Mother's Day' and 'Father's Day' for one day! Same is the case of 'Valentine day'. Is the real love showy and limited to just one day? In Indian culture we have numbers of festivals to express love towards each other and also it is part of our lifestyle.

It is time to change the days that defy our ethos !

Since Hinduism is ancient and eternal, it relates everything to various forms of God. Following examples will bring home the Greatness of Hinduism. They will also throw light on how the Bharatiyas are still under the psychological bondage of the British.

Example 1: The frequencies of Prajapati come to the Earth in larger measures on the day of Gudipadva. However instead of celebrating that day as the 'New Year' day, the Government celebrates 1st January as the New Year's day, which is not based on any Principle.

Example 2: Instead of calculating time based on the Bhartiya Culture ('Shalivahan Shaka') the Government uses the Christian Era (A.D), which has no relevance to any particular time or zone.

Example 3: The Guru Principle decends on Earth in large measures on the day of Gurupournima. In all fairness that day should be celebrated as 'Teachers Day'. However it is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Ex-President Dr.Radhakrishnan.

In the Ishwariya Rajya (Divine Kingdom) we are going to change all such things which are not related to Hindu Religion and Culture in anyway.

Most people who hate Valentine's Day are people who are single. If you don't like that holiday then don't celebrate it. As for the mayhem you say is associated with that day, I think you're full of it. Valentine's Day is a romantic day where couple's get together to celebrate their LOVE. If you're going to try and attack a holiday why don't you pick Halloween or St. Patrick's Day? Those are the one's most known for chaos and drunkeness. You have NO case.

Seventh Day Adventists only please?

I'm not trying to exclude others I just don't think you'll understand exactly what I;m saying if you're not SDA. Here it goes: I'm engaged to a non-SDA he's baptized as Catholic but non practicing...as not raised with any religious teachings at all. Past 5 years I've slowly been able to teach him a bit about my beliefs. He has since chosen not to eat pork but more so cause I "forced" him rather than actually choosing to. He has heard the bible verses and reasoning in church though. He attends church regularly with me every Saturday. He prays with me, but only if I pray out loud; he's never said the actual prayer. He doesn't have intentions on being baptized as SDA. So what do I do...call off the wedding (it's in Sept.) until he understand about our Savior and gets baptized...or just get married hoping to continue to teach him? I'm worried that I will lose him cause we've been having a lot of stress lately. Besides different religion...he works in sales and I'm in a doctoral program so our lives are very different...different priorities, mind set..everything...but what we share with one another is beautiful. He's a good person and he loves me more than anyone ever has and I love him the same. I would never have considered marrying him if I didn't think he was the guy for me. I'm lost right now. Please share your thoughts with me. Like I said SDA ONLY please...everyone else's answers will only be either offensive or sound like greeting cards about love...both of which is useless to me right now.
he has never been a Catholic and wouldn't know where to even begin to revist that...he knows more about SDA than Catholocism..

and problem is he is not a Christian at ALL...at the end of the day SDA believes in our Lord and eternal life...does he believe that..I dunno.

While I am neither a Catholic or a SDA, I am a Christian who is very familiar with both denominations. I have been married for 30 years. I believe I have some advice that may be helpful to you. You need to ask yourself some questions. If he is a Christian who is unfamiliar with SDA beliefs then he is in for a struggle if you demand he become a SDA in order to get married. What you need to ask yourself is whether salvation comes through being a Christian or being a SDA? If you believe salvation comes through being a SDA then you will have serious problems in the future and you also need to re-examine who qualifies for salvation.

If my answer interests you, my email is open.

edit: after reading your additional details I was taken back a bit. If you think about it, your question has nothing to do with being a Catholic or being a SDA and the possible problems that could cause in a marriage. You are wondering whether you as a Christian should marry someone who is not a Christian. I won't quote scripture but I will suggest you and he get marriage counseling with a qualified marriage counselor and then decide what to do about the wedding.

my husband walked out on me 2 months ago. doesn't call or answer my calls? should i divorce him and how?

my husband walked out on me 2 months ago. doesn't call or answer my calls? Oct 22 was supposed to be our 2nd year wedding anniversary, all i got from him was a text message greeting 'happy anniversary'. When he left I received a credit card bill that he claimed to have cancelled 3 to 4 months ago. Thinking that it was mine I opened it, there were some charges that belonged an 800# and IPayfriend finder. He's got more friends than me why would he have to pay to find more friends? I've doubted and have lost trust in him; his staying up til 2 or 3AM or coming home late (from 11pm to 2am) before he left me are confirmed by the bill. I'm from NJ, how can I divorce him? I'm also Catholic, can I have the marriage annulled too?

I am sorry that this happened to you. You might be able to annul it but usual you have do it before a year is up. Ithink you shoudl get on th eball and draw up papers now. If you have the money for it you can can go to any divorce lawyer. If not you can get a public defender and pick up forms at the court house in your area. First have a consultaion with a divorce lawyer and see what their fees are for contested and uncontested divorce. Make sure you tell them he left you. That would fall under abandonment. if anything holler.

  • Catholic Priests Supported by Emerging Grassroots Effort (For ...

Throughout the centuries, over a billion people around the world have witnessed the service and dedication of Catholic priests.  Some recall the heroic and sacrificial example of military chaplains, priests who serve in nursing homes and hospitals, fathers who feed the poor, pastors who serve as peacemakers during marriage counseling, or priests who have celebrated a family wedding or funeral Mass.

Yet today, the secular media is laser-focused on only a handful of wayward priests who have betrayed Jesus and the teachings of His Church, and are violating a sacred oath and trust. But millions of faithful priests and bishops serve as heroic shepherds of their flocks, leading rewarding and spirit-filled lives of service to others.
