I am writing a research paper that has me comparing and contrasting 2 religions. I am having trouble finding the holidays and the meaning of catholic holidays.

Why do the churches have different dates for different holidays like Christmas is 1/7 in the Eastern calender while it is 12/25 in the west. That's just one example. I'd like to know how and why this happened.
Some Orthodox churches (including Jerusalem, Serbs, and most Russians), follow the Julian calendar which is current 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar. The Gregorian calendar is the ordinary civil calendar, and is used for fixed dates (but not Easter) by other Orthodox churches (including Antiochians, Romanians, most Greeks, and the OCA in the US). The Julian calendar is the old Roman calendar, with leap years every 4 years. In the 16th century, it was noted the spring equinox was coming later and later in the year, so the Gregorian calendar was introduced. Ten days were dropped (October 15 was the day after October 4 in 1582), and there are no leap years in years divisible by 100, unless they are divisible by 400.
So this attack on Gaza, are they expecting the west will be very busy celebrating christmas or what? Will Mr Bush react with dignity once and for all and last?
An attack in response to rocket and mortar attacks is predicated on the aggressor's timing, in this case Hamas.
We want to take our grandchildren to Florida but the dates I've seen on the school's own website don't seem to add up. They seem to have Good Friday and Easter Monday and then go back until the 7 April. This can't be right can it?
It depends on the Borough that you are in. My son goes to a catholic school and they had to follow the other schools in the new holiday schedules. The UK is now following USA where we are slowly being introduced to Spring Break instead of Easter Holidays so what you might find now is that
Good Friday and Easter monday are holidays then they go back to school for another week or so THEN they get two weeks holiday after.
check the holidays again - if you find this then it means the school was forced to make the decision to follow the other schools in the new holiday system because the Second Term is believed to be too short (there are other factors involved)

Brazil Is The Sun Soaked Party
By day holidays to Brazil are all about sinking your toes into the silky soft sands. Sitting back in your sun longer while a friendly local rattles you up a fiery drink. Joining in an energetic game of volleyball as a cool sea breeze washes over you.
By night its about getting your glad rags on and shimmying down to the buzzing bars and clubs. One thing for sure no one knows how to party quite like the Brazilians. Its in their blood. Its almost as if they were born quaffing and swinging their hips in time to the beat. To these people dancing comes as naturally as breathing so rhythm is as important as suncream when youre packing up to come here.
Brazil holidays offer up a beach break from the norm. So if you want to inject a little Latino spirit into your life look no further than this sizzling South American slice.
...The Illuminati Game: (The future on cards)
In 1990, role-playing inventor, Steve Jackson, was planning his newest game, which he would ultimately call the “Illuminati — New World Order” Game, or “INWO” for short. Jackson was creating a game that would hit very, very close to home, very close to the actual plan of the Illuminati to propel the world into the New World Order — also known as the Kingdom of Antichrist. As we shall show you, Jackson issued playing cards, three of which foretold the events of 9/11, three of which correctly predict future events just ahead of us, and two that correctly foretell the last two events that the Bible foretells will occur during the final birth pangs that will produce Antichrist! are these cards real…..and i try to live without sin….its a humbling task but god appricates every effort made to be pure…the big things are easy like its just the little lies u tell threw out your life….i have worked on that much….and have improved a great deal….i hope god has an understanding of me….
