i am a little confused christian, at the moment, used to go to www.ucg.org go to evangelical churches at the moment, and now past ex gf gave me back an NIV Bible i got for her because she says she would buy an orthodox one because she grew up eastern orthodox. if you can please tell me the differences that would be great!
The New Testament is the same in all of the Bibles.
In the Old Testament the Eastern Orthodox have 51 books, Catholics have 46 and the Protestants have only 39 having adopted the Canon of the Pharisees instead of the Christian Canon.

I'm not religious but I think that they are different translations from one another.

Have you disobey the 10 Commandments as hotwingz said. Confess to a priest, repent and sin no more.
To sum up : Love your God with all your heart body and soul. In addition, love your neighbours.
