How does the catholic church verify miracles?
Our Lady of America. 2011 by Stephen B Whatley

One of the miracles used in the beatification of Mother Teresa was when she was said to have cured an indian woman of a tumor in a supernatural sort of way. This turned controversial when three of her doctors came out and said that there was no miracle and instead the woman was cured of her very treatable disease by modern medicine.

This kind of thing makes me wonder how strictly the catholic church vets these "miracles." I appreciate your thoughts and thanks for your time!

It should make you wonder about any "miracle", recently or well in the past.
All those miracles religions claim... It could be the same as this... all hocus pocus when the truth comes out.

How does the Catholic Church verify reported miracles?
rome as mentioned in the quran!

What the is process that they have for vetting miracles? When someone or something is sighted, or a medical patient beats cancer after praying to some Pope and claims this to be a miracle, how does the Catholic Church scrutinize the event?
Please answer in detail if you know about this and not just say: "Some decides it."

In the long history of the Church, the specific standards for determining miracles varied from period to period, with individual bishops having a key say in determination. The gradual centralization of the process, both in the causes of saints and in determining the validity of miracles led to the creation of a central office. Established by Sixtus V in 1588 as the Congregation of Rites, the congregation was later renamed and its functions defined by Paul VI, 1969 (apostolic constitution Sacra Rituum Congregatio). It was restructured and canonization procedures were revised by John Paul II in 1983 (apostolic constitution Divinus Perfectionis Magister).

While filled with sensational spects and written from a certain point of view, Making Saints: How the Catholic Church Determines Who Becomes a Saint, Who Dosen'T, and Why by Kenneth L. Woodward does offer some very useful information and historical details on the legal process that is involved in examining miracles.

What kind of miracles does the Catholic Church accept to declare somebody a Saint?
Muslim conquest of Rome as mentioned in the quran

I am working on becoming a Saint and I need at least two verifiable miracles that can pass the Devil's Advocate's scrutiny so that I can be verified after I die. What miracles do I need?

We are all called to be saints. However, to be canonized, you need to live your life as a very holy person now. The two verifiable miracles must occur after your death so you don't need to worry about them now.

Did God make them to strengthen our faith?

I think that God allows us to witness the miraculous for several reasons and I would agree that faith is a primary reason,in regards to Lanciano as you well know the Priest doubted the real presence in the Eucharist and so this was a tough wake up call for him,but also for many who also doubt.
Miracles however are primarily instructive in that God has to communicate His infallible truth in ways that causes us to halt and take the opposite direction, but the fact remains that as we do not see miracles such as this on a regular basis we are perhaps just a little scared of the awesome power of God.
God bless you!

In the Introduction, you refer to yourself as a “candid friend” of Christianity, and remark that your days growing up in the rectory are a pleasure to remember. You apparently are disillusioned with the Christian Church as a whole. Would you mind giving us a little background on how you went from embracing dogma to having doubts?

I wouldn’t actually say that I was disillusioned with the Church.  I’ve always had an affection for its institutions, and the Church of England is after all my tribe; you don’t reject your tribe lightly.  Indeed in recent months I have found myself fiercely defending the Anglican tradition against ill-judged assaults on it, when its bishops have on the whole kept silent.  What I would rather say is that I have come to view with grave suspicion ultimate claims to authority, particularly those made on behalf of the Bible (the Bible itself hardly makes any claims to authority).  This started many years ago when I was an undergraduate at Cambridge University in the early 1970s.  There around the age of twenty, I happily came to terms with being gay, a fact which I had realised from an early age.

Through the study of Revelation chapter 17, the Lord has led us to a most startling truth, confirming that we are nearer to the end of all things than ever imagined. We are prompted by our loving God to share this prophecy, that none need be ensnared by the global events soon to transpire which will engulf the world in the grandest deception yet contrived by Satan.

World’s Last Chance dares to declare this interpretation to the world because we adhere only to sound Biblical interpretation. This means we unlock Bible prophecy by using the Bible as its own interpreter. By doing so we are certain of the correctness of the revelation.

With the vivid realization that we are living in the age just prior to the second coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven, we pray the Lord will impress you with the shortness of time available before the fate of every living person is decided, and may His Spirit give you the discernment and wisdom needed as you undertake this solemn study. AMEN
