How long does the average catholic religious (priest, brother or sister) live?
Faith At The Bottom Of The Hill

I remember reading a news paper article, that said that priest, brothers, and sisters, are expected to live a couple years longer than an average person, now I cant find it. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find an article that talks about the life expectancy for a catholic religious? Please help!

Life expectancy correlates very strongly with the wealth of the country a person lives in - poor countries, of which many are catholic, tend to have shorter life expectancies.

I couldn't find anything quickly comparing life expectancy between catholics and others in the same country.

Can the Catholic religious priest spend his money to go to a hotel and enjoy his life as he wish?
FR11P3535

My best friend is a catholic religious priest and He is a teacher in a technical college. Does he has any income and can he handle his money as his wish. Can he spend his money to go to a hotel and enjoy his life as he wish?
The enjoy means.. can he has sex with a woman as he wish??
***PS: I am not catholic.. , but I love Catholic people

It depends on what kind of priest he is.

There are two types of Catholic priests:

A religious priest is ordained into a religious order like the Society of Jesus (Jesuit) or Franciscans. He receives duty assignments from superiors in their respective religious orders. Some religious priests specialize in teaching, whereas others serve as missionaries in foreign countries, where they may live under difficult and primitive conditions. Other religious priests live a communal life in monasteries, where they devote their lives to prayer, study, and assigned work. These priests take vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience.

A diocesan priest is ordained to serve in a specific geographical area (called a diocese). He ministers under the leadership of a bishop, and will more than likely serve as a parish priest. These priests take vows of chastity and obedience but not poverty.

So if he is a religious priest then no he cannot "spend his money to go to a hotel and enjoy his life as he wish" because he has no money of his own.

If he is a diocesan priest then, yes, he can go on vacation and "spend his money to go to a hotel and enjoy his life as he wish."

Both types of priests are celibate.

With love in Christ.

Are religious Catholic girls prohibited from making out with guys? What about premarital sex?
Do many do it anyways?

Depends on your definition of make-out.

The rule is that we shall not seek sexual pleasure from our dating relationships. If you're starting to get aroused, that means it's time to sit back and cool off for a bit.

Do many do it? Would you call a girl Catholic if she slept with every man she knows?

God Bless :)

What is the difference from a private university and a private religious (catholic)affiliated university?
Santa Claus is coming to town

i'm looking into a BA in communications and one of the schools that im looking into which are my two top choices are private catholic schools (loyola or depaul) and the third choice is just a private school (roosevelt university)

what is the difference aside from the religious affiliation?

The religious affiliation means you might have a priest or brother teaching you - and there are a number of Jesuits with doctorates in engineering, life sciences and philosophy. Most are excellent teachers and researchers, but they uphold a strong concern for social justice. You'll also have a more liberal arts education at a Jesuit institution because of their focus on philosophy, theology and ethics. It'll just shape your critical thinking skills a little differently.

I personally think that Loyola is in a more fun neighborhood, down the street from the coffeehouse district around Diversey and Lincoln.

One of my former instructors teaches broadcast journalism at Roosevelt. None of the schools are bad for communication, just make sure to take enough of other subjects to be able to do things many reporters can't, such as read financial statements of a company you're investigating, or speak sufficient Spanish to talk to recent immigrants in Chicago, or understand basic statistical testing so you can tell if a politician is lying about figures.

    Happy Easter | The Americano

Easter celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. It is Christianity’s most important holiday.

Christian churches in the West celebrate Easter on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox on March 21. Easter is observed anywhere between March 22 and April 25 every year.

Orthodox Christians use the Julian calendar to calculate when Easter will occur and typically celebrate the holiday a week or two after the Western churches, which follow the Gregorian calendar.

Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection occurred after he went to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover (or Pesach in Hebrew), the Jewish festival commemorating the ancient Israelites’ exodus from slavery in Egypt. Pascha eventually came to mean Easter.
