like the definition, how its like charity, and how its like justice.
Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
Social Justice is the respect for the human person and the rights which flow from human dignity and guarantee it.
Society must provide the conditions that allow people to obtain what is their due, according to their nature and vocation.
This includes employers paying employees a living wage
If we truly love our neighbor as well as we love ourselves, how can we allow him and his family to live in poverty?

I have a couple of questions related to Social Justice and Religion.
1) What was the attitude of Jesus to social justice in his community?
2) How did Jesus treat the outcasts of his society and why?
3) Find a bible story that illustrates his attitude
Jesus was in the same mold as Amos. There was far too much piety and rule-observing and not nearly enough problem-solving.
Jesus reached out to the "low-lifes" and aquired an unsavory reputation as a "drunkard and a glutton" who hung out with poor people, "tax collectors and prostitutes". He also had an alarming number of contacts with lepers, Samaritans and other ritually unclean persons.
'Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them.' - Luke 11:46

Acton Institute President and Co-Founder Rev. Robert A. Sirico recently delivered a talk on social justice and socialism at St. Thomas More Academy in Raleigh, N.C. The school’s mission is “dedicated to continuing the vital tradition of Catholic education by integrating the very best academic curriculum with the deepest spiritual wisdom of Catholic Christianity.” Rev. Sirico’s talk was part of the school’s Robert L. Luddy Speaker’s Series .
...to live would be an awfully big adventure: quot;They Call Me a Communistquot;
Glenn Beck apparently commented (some weeks ago now) that Catholics should keep an eye out for the words "social justice," and if their priest preaches it, they should take it up to the bishop -- as if the bishop would object! Colbert also showed a clip of Beck comparing those who support Catholic social teaching to communists and Nazis. After going through his usual satirical spiel, Colbert brings in a Jesuit priest to discuss the matter. If CST is the "best kept secret of the Church" (which I've heard; though I've also heard it has some competition from ToB), hopefully this frank discussion about Catholic doctrine from both Colbert and Fr. Martin cleared things up for a huge number of viewers. The Catholic Church could use more publicity like this. By far my favorite part occurred (I think)...
