The Sunday and daily readings in The Catholic Church are the same every day and the same in all locations every where in the world. While the protestant readings differ from the catholic readings and from each other. Thus creating a divided effort. Why not all get on the same page. Especialy since we all believe the bible to be a living rather than a historic document
The Protestant churches do not have the same level of organization that we do. The Methodists, Baptists, Episcopals(Anglicans), Pentecostals, etc. all have different leaders. I think some denominations do not even have bishops and are only organized at the level of a single congregation. It would be nice if we could move closer to reunification of the Church, but that won't happen for a long time. At least they are reading the Bible in church just like we do ( even though some Protestants think we do not). A lot of them include some fun music and other entertainment too. All in all they aren't bad. I just wish fundamentalists would stop saying we are not Christians. I wonder why they do not bash the Orthodox too, but I am glad that they don't.
Catholic priest reflects during liturgy on the fifth anniversary of the 911 attacks on the United States.
Which is the correct answer?
A) Dozens of verses.
B) Somewhere between 4 and 8 verses.
C) None; everyone knows the Catholic Church tries to keep Scripture away from the people!
A. There is a reading from one of the Gospels; one from an Epistle; often an Old Testament narrative passage too; a psalm read with the congregation; plus various scripture verses that are embedded as part of the service.

What are the Sunday Readings in the Catholic Church? Is there a good website I can also get a reflection for?
Thanks
PS- I am thinking more about the Catholic faith and now that I'm learning about it in school, I understand it more. I have a few questions, though.
1) Can I still listen to songs by artists like Chris Tomlin, Micheal W. Smith. I would think so, because we do sometimes at Youth Group (Catholic one)
2) Is there any kind of worship sessions with songs like "Awesome God" (besides Mass)? Can I still go to Non-denominational Worships?
3) I dont have to pray with Mary and the Saints, right?
4) Any books that I can get at my Church or local library I should read? (I have a CCC)
5) Any Scriptures I should read, also?
1, 2, 3, 4) Read the Bible, understand, and apply it. There is no set schedule. Have fun.
I found this on the web:

They only have 3 months posted. If you want more than that, get a copy of a Sunday Missal.
I am Catholic but I was invited by a cousin to attend a Baptist service in the Baptist church that she is a member of. The pastor read a few passages from Hebrews and Ephisians and another epistle (sorry, I forgot which one). There was no reading of the Gospel. The pastor said that his theme for this year is "faith". Do the members of the Baptist churches have any idea about what the readings would be before the service starts?
The pastor delivered a very powerful sermon. He did not attack any religion. Although he talked about the necessity of "saving" faith and "serving" faith, he did not say that you have to be a Baptist to be saved. And all the people in the congregation were very nice and friendly especially to the guests.
I have no intention of leaving the Catholic Church. I also have no intention of attending anymore Baptist services. But the service I attended this morning was a pleasant experience. As a Catholic, I fulfulled my Sunday obligation by attending the anticipated mass in a Catholic church (though not in my parish) yesterday.
Yes, I am aware that the epistles are part of the New Testament. I was just curious why there was no reading from any of the 4 Gospels. In the Catholic Sunday mass, we have the 3 scripture readings, one of which is from a Gospel. In addition, we also have the psalms. We follow a liturgical calendar and all readings are the same in all Catholic Churches on any given day.
St. Berna,
This pastor did not talk about tithing. Since it was their church's anniversary when I attended there was a sumptuous lunch and they gave gifts to the attendees. I got an umbrella which will be really usefull since I live in the Vancouver area.
The reading from Hebrews and Ephesians is from Scripture, were you not aware of that? No, it's not considered one of the 4 gospels, but it is New Testament.
Pastors choose their sermons by prayer, by need of the congregation, or from study in different sermon books bought for the very purpose.
Does the congregation know what is going to be read? Sometimes they know the theme of the sermon, the pastor tells them in previous sermons he's going to do a series on marriage and family or something like that. But normally no, we don't know in advance, we just turn to whatever passage he says to go to.

Isaiah 52: 13 — 53:12
13 Behold, my servant shall prosper, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high. 14 As many were astonished at him — his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of the sons of men — 15 so shall he startle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths because of him; for that which has not been told them they shall see, and that which they have not heard they shall understand. 53:1 Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2 For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or comeliness that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? 9 And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the will of the LORD to bruise him; he has put him to grief; when he makes himself an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring, he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand; 11 he shall see the fruit of the travail of his soul and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous; and he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
