Couples are being encouraged to pray together before sex in a new book published by prominent church group Catholic Truth Society. A special prayer to help couples "purify their intentions" is one of a number set out in the Prayer Book for Spouses.
The Prayer Before Making Love implores God "to place within us love that truly gives, tenderness that truly unites, self-offering that tells the truth and does not deceive, forgiveness that truly receives, loving physical union that welcomes". It adds: "Open our hearts to you, to each other and to the goodness of your will".
The Rt Rev Paul Hendricks, who is the Auxiliary Bishop of Southwark, told the Daily Mail: “'It is important for the Church to affirm the value of marriage and family life and I suppose this is a particular way of doing that.

How many Catholics follow this advice?
@Eros - Perhaps praying is a form of birth control
Only once in awhile when they aren't sloppy drunk.
Speaking of sex and catholicism, here's an interesting article on the "catholic kama sutra" lol

"Newly-wed Roman Catholic couples are being encouraged to say a special prayer together before having sex... The specially-composed Prayer Before Making Love is aimed at 'purifying their intentions' so the act is not about selfishness or hedonism.
It appears in the 64-page Prayer Book for Spouses which has been published by the London-based Catholic Truth Society, reports the Daily Mail."

so...since i'm all about making sure i get it right, is there a particular prayer i should say?
Our Sexiness, Who art in dungeon
Hallowed be Thy Panties;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
in me as it is in you.
Give us this day our daily moaning,
and forgive us our fake orgasm,
as we forgive those who steal sexy friends;
and lead us not into threesomes,
but deliver us from virginity. Amen.
Telling the truth may seem like a simple and obvious lesson we learned when we were little. But at that point we couldn’t really understand it and learn it. Without truth, honesty is absent. And where honesty is lacking, trust cannot be formed. When you can trust someone completely, you appreciate their loyalty. Loyalty and trust can sometimes be difficult when you are pressured, but keeping your promises and not changing helps you grow as a person. Truth is often viewed as bad by society. We cover our imperfections to be accepted or envied by peers. Being truthful sometimes requires being vulnerable or embarrassed. Though the pride of originality should be worth it, many fear the consequences of not being accepted. They change themselves for others so much that it gets to the point where they forget who they truly are. I know it’s hard to not let humiliation tear you apart. As I’ve grown, I understand more fully the importance of being myself. I believe that truth is always with me. Lying can only temporarily hide a problem. With truth, problems are able to be solved and love can exist. Our relationship with God remains loving because we cannot lie to him, he knows all. If truth was more present in our personal relationships, love would spread through society more easily. And where love is present, so is God.
thank you lovely. =]
You're a really good writer.
It makes a lot of sense.
I like it (:
If it were to be discovered in the Vatican Archives a bit of information truly damning to the Christian faith, say, a manuscript detailing the theft and disposal of Jesus' body, and it were confirmed (Vatican archaeologists going and actually finding the body, thus debunking the resurrection), would the Vatican cover it up, or be truthful to the entire world and annihilate the Christian faith?
What I'm asking is whether, in your opinion, the church is more dedicated to maintaining their dogma, and thus, their status within society, or if they're dedicated to truth.
This is not a question of if it could happen, but what the churches course of action would be if it did.
I would imagine at least someone involved would be mad as hell, and not willing to stay silent. I'm hoping that same drive for truth that drives Vatican archeologists, would help them expose the truth.
I don't want to worship a lie, and I don't want someone telling me to worship a lie. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part that someone else feels that way.
I'm Catholic, btw.
EDIT:
@MonicaP
"yes they would cover it up
they have been covering up things since the beginning
when i went to catholic school they never taught us
about the spanish Inquisition or why Martin Luther a catholic priest rebelled they still dont tell about the sex scandals"
Yet we know about all these things. It would be hard to believe if such evidence as was posited in the question existed it wouldn't be thrown in Christian's faces every moment of every day, especially here on the Y!A R&S board.
Victimization started Since Cain, son of Adam(first man on earth), kill his brother.But many people in the world, in different society don't complain as much American do.
In America women complain job equality,psychological victimization, racism,age prejudice. even criminals in prison complain about anything.People like Oprah Winfrey make a lifetime hobby of searching victimization in every American.
The truth is that everybody is a victim of someone else,ever since we start to form in the womb of our moder.Some people get victimize inside the womb of their mother because she smoke.
Since the child abuse scandal of catholic priest, everybody want to kill catholic church and all priest are being seen as child rapist.In fact now there is a increase of false accusation made by people to hurt the reputation of others.Each thousands of prisoners must be freed because of false judgment.
Sometime mothers manipulate their children to lie against their father or vis versa.
During the Michael Jackson trial, a 37 year old man shows up as an other victim of Michael Jackson. He say that Michael Jackson grab his ass years ago.Fortunately nobody believe him because there were too many more serious-like in the line before him.Everybody wanted to make some money on the back of that poor freaky guy.Eventually he was plead non-guilty and everybody went about their previous occupation and forget everything.The problem today is that people lie so much to tarnish celebrities reputations, we may never know the truth but for sure someone's reputation is tarnish for ever.
95% of the problem is the legal system which provides heavy incentives to accuse, blame and sue in America. We simply have waaay too many litigation, tort, malpractice, personal injury and divorce attorneys that make their living off sucking the blood out of somebody.
When financial incentives are heavily curbed in the legal circuits, the finger-pointing culture will start to become less pronounced.
