I'm Catholic, and i recently just went to a Non-Denominational Christian youth ministry with my friend. Does that go against being catholic? It sounded like a good idea since we share similar beliefs. I just wanted to know what they were all about.
it probably is looked down upon severely, you may come across the Truth, hence leaving the catholic faith and all their false doctrine, man made traditions and rituals that have No Biblical Truth, support nor basis...Please answer His call and return to Him now, place your Faith and Trust where it belongs, and not in a church and it's clergy :-) Rev. 18:4a warning from Jesus.. Peace/Love & God Bless and Keep You
I want to do actual work (ex: building houses, helping children and elderly, feeding the poor, etc.) because I feel that it is not right to impose religion forcefully on others. I would prefer that it is a Catholic ministry, but nondenominational is alright too. I really do wish to make a change in this world and I believe that this would be the perfect opportunity. I am doing this alone (maybe with a friend or two) and not with my youth group. Does anyone have any suggestions as to any organizations that take teens out to impoverished places to perform work? Preferably somewhere in the U.S., Caribbean, or Mexico. Thanks! God Bless!
Nazareth Farm in West Virginia does a lot of good work for people in Appalachia.
Habitat for Humanity is probably more local - not Catholic, per se, but I know lots of Catholics that work in it.
I am looking into becoming a youth minister, and I was wondering what are some good books to read to learn more about the Catholic Church, and youth ministry.
Before you go and do a damnable thing like that, you had better read this first.......http://www.lcg.org/cgi-bin/tw/booklets/p rint-bk.cgi?action=print_item&catego ry=Booklets1&item=1140203084&pri nt=yes
I know that a CYO is a Catholic Youth Organization and a CYM is a Catholic Youth Ministry. But I'm still not sure what distinguishes the two.
CYO is generally centered aroubd sports and extra cirricular type activities with a Christian centering.
CYM is the spiritual side - kids teaching kids - kids learning more scriptures - things like that.
they are both morally grounded, youth centered organizations for like minded individuals to get togther in brain or sport type activities.
Hey I'm starting a Christian/Catholic youth ministry in my community for people between 10-19 years of age. Any song ideas? I'm looking more for songs with actions. Thanks
Looking mainly for upbeat songs that kids and teens will like...
what do you mean by actions?
I have tons of ideas but what kind of songs are you mostly looking for??
