catholic youth organization

I know that a CYO is a Catholic Youth Organization and a CYM is a Catholic Youth Ministry. But I'm still not sure what distinguishes the two.

CYO is generally centered aroubd sports and extra cirricular type activities with a Christian centering.
CYM is the spiritual side - kids teaching kids - kids learning more scriptures - things like that.

they are both morally grounded, youth centered organizations for like minded individuals to get togther in brain or sport type activities.

This organization brings together kids in Northern Ireland from both sides of the religious fence in order to effect peace in their troubled land. The kids live together and go to the U.S. together on "mission" trips as well. Funding is provided through a gift catalog of Irish crafts and jewelry.

When I was younger it was EMU organising cross community projects (not sure what it stands for) I must of missed out on the trips to the states, but here’s their website

I know that for most churches and organizations there are certain rules that you need to follow if you are going to be a leader. Is it the same for catholic youth leaders like dating, ect??

yes there are rules and you can find them out by contacting your local diocies headquarters. more rules have been implaced ever since the media began blowing all of the priest scandles out of proportion.

Ok, well I went to a Catholic grade school, and I graduated in 2006. Well, when studnets graduated they become a member of the High School CYO (Catholic Youth Organization). Well the HSCYO puts on a Hautned House every year for the kids in the grade school and at our last meeting we discussed when we would ahve our planning meeting. Basically, everyone at the meeting finds a group and they come up with a scary scene. Well I need some good ideas.Last year I did a butcher scene with my friends... but I want something crazy scary this year... any ideas?????

Here's an easy one for your butcher scene: Get a clear container. I use the cylindrical tubs that they sell licorice in. (bonus: you hafta eat all the licorice to empty it!) Also, get an aquarium air pump. Both of these items will cost you about $20 or less. fill the container with water, insert the tube from the pump, add a little red food coloring. Wad up two or three paper towels and put a rubber band around the wad. Drop that in the water. Before to long the saturated paper towel looks like something gooey and red. The air pump makes it looks like its kind of alive in there, especially in a strobe light.

It'll gross people out to see you reach in and handle it. Only you know it's only a paper towel!

Have someone who is hiding smack a wooden broom handle on the concrete floor - very loud & scary in the dark.

Manequins and strobe lights or black lights are also very effective...Have fun.
