Hi! I was wondering if you can give me some feedback on my essay...grammar errors or whatnot or if its even a good essay to submit, any advice will be appreciated!!
Prompt: Please compose a one or two page essay about yourself that tells us how you will help the University to carry out its mission:
To promote learning in the Jesuit Catholic tradition so that students acquire the knowledge, skills, values and sensitivities they need to succeed as persons, professionals and architects of a more humane and just world (for more information, please see: www.usfca.edu/mission).
Growing up in a family where I would be the first generation to graduate college has played a big role in my determination to finish school and succeed. My parents have always pushed me to do well in school by doing what they thought would be best for me, enrolling me in a private catholic school. I have been attending private schools since I was in the sixth grade. I never thought about the reason why they had suddenly enrolled me in a private school; all I was concerned about during my fifth grade graduation was how cruel they were for separating me from my friends. As I entered Most Holy Trinity, a small private elementary school located in eastside San Jose, I was able to see how different it was from public school. It was very small, about 28 students in a single classroom, and the relationship between the students and teachers was portrayed as one big family. I started to see the benefits that going to a private school have given me: I had a better relationship with my teachers; I was getting good grades; and I was getting closer to my faith.
I continued on to attend a private, all girls’ high school, Notre Dame San Jose. I can honestly say that my high school years were the best four years of my life. I made about ten friends that I now consider my sisters. Notre Dame’s mission statement was that not only are they going to teach us academically, but to also teach us what we needed to know for life and that is exactly what they did. I was taking vigorous classes as well as serving my community. Community service played a big role in my life. I was given an opportunity to work with the mentally disabled, the financially disabled, the elderly, and kids.
The University of San Francisco’s mission statement of promoting a Jesuit Catholic tradition while helping students acquire the knowledge, skills, values, and sensitivities they need to succeed as persons, professions, and architects of a more human and just world, has given me a chance to reflect back on my success at Notre Dame San Jose as the mission statements are similar. With Notre Dame, I was able to find my passion in community service. To me, it is one of the most rewarding and satisfying things because I am able to make a difference in my community. It has given me skills that I need to succeed in my life; including teaching me how to be patient, how to dedicate and apply myself to accomplish a goal, take on responsibility, and most importantly, to appreciate the things that I have. I have no doubt in my mind that going to University of San Francisco will help me expand my success.
I have friends that have gone to USF and was able to tell their story about their own success. Going to USF and being the first generation to graduate from college will give me a chance to retell my story about my success and about how the University of San Francisco has helped me by giving me the opportunity to improve my life skills and knowledge and in result, have a successful life and career. I hope to encourage and motivate others with my story so that they will be able to have a chance to experience and go through the benefits that I have been fortunate enough to receive from USF.
It's heavily oriented toward the religious area of your life. Perhaps a dose of truth would be to your advantage.

You need to do some serious revising.
This essay is supposed to be about you, and it should be less about your experience. your experience has already been included on the common application.
You need to talk more about how you will make this world a "humane and just world" it shows that you like community service, but you didn't include any of your long term goals of how you will make the world a better place. This essay basically summed up what schools you went to, and how much you enjoy serving the community, which is great, but you also need to talk about how you will promote these skills, etc. Overall, you need to show more critical thinking.
Also, you do not need to put in the prompt as in the last paragraph. The admissions office are already aware of the prompt. Try to cut that down or summarize in your own words to show you understand their mission.
Eastside Catholic focused on the #39;little things#39; | Baseball ...
The last two seasons, state tournament aspirations soared high for the Eastside Catholic baseball team. The Crusaders combined for a 39-9 record over the span.
The only problem — each of those seasons came to abrupt ends with losses in the Metro tournament.
"We've gotten over that, and talked to them about that," first-year Crusader head coach Kurt Boyd said. "Part of the function of tripping up late in the year ... you've got to be able to do the little things in baseball. We are working on little things day in and day out."
Boyd, who was an assistant pitching coach for Curt Towey at Eastside Catholic last year, has the helm in 2010. He has years of experience coaching club and high school baseball. Boyd also has nine assistants under him. In all, the group has coached for more than 175 years. That doesn't count the presence of former Seattle Mariner Jay Buhner, who volunteers his time throwing batting practice among other chores.
...Eastside Catholic Special Olympians win state title
Dickison and teammates Greg Butler (junior point guard) and Megan Mills (sophomore guard), both of Sammamish, said winning this year took a good amount of teamwork. The Special Olympics athletes practiced from early December and participated in various scrimmages leading up to the regional tournament in February, where they qualified for the state tournament. Seeing them learn that aspect of the game is the best part, O’Rourke said about coaching the Options team. And although games aren’t as high scoring as the varsity games, O’Rourke said the Special Olympics players surprise people with their level of competition. Players like Greg Butler* can sink three-pointers as well as anyone else. He played a key role in Eastside Catholic’s first-round win, O’Rourke said.
