I have found lots of information regarding RCIC and CCD, but RCIC is for children who have reached the age of reason (7/8 years) and CCD is typically for children who are not receiving religious education at school.
My child attends a Catholic School, as did I, however, is not baptized Catholic, nor am I. We were both baptized in The Holy Trinity at a non-denominational church. My husband is a baptized Episcopal.
I would imagine that my child's schooling would take the place of CCD and his age would not allow him to attend RCIC. How then do I go about having him accepted into the Catholic Church so that he can make his First Communion and begin receiving the Holy Eucharist there? Our catholic education has taught us to believe in transubstination and we attend Mass one Sunday per month. We visit an Episcopalian church one Sunday per month and the non-denominational church one-two Sundays per month.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated so very much.
Thankyou.
Catholic school does take the place of CCD, however, there are some problems. First, you should be taking your child to a Roman Catholic Mass EVERY Sunday if you want him to go through the Sacraments. He has to have 2 years of Catholic Religious Education before receive Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, and this usually happens in 2nd grade. You should speak to the school to find out exactly when he should start preparation classes for this specific Sacrament.
Most importantly though, take him to Mass every week. And if you feel that it is important for him, you must also believe it is important for yourself. Have you considered going through RCIA yourself?

I am Catholic and went to Catholic school all my life. One thing that is certain (my protestant friends like to remind me) is that we Catholics tend to not know anything about any other religion, and I am no different.
Now I know all Christians believe in The Father and the Son, but do they all believe in the Holy Spirit as the Third part of God/Holy Trinity?
True Christians, who recognize that even the earliest Christians accepted the Trinity, do. Cults and heretics commonly deny Christ's deity and yet call themselves "Christians", as is evident from reading some of the answers you received.
This is a bit of a weird question. I went to Amityville high school on long island for my freshmen and sophomore years and liked it but transferred to Holy Trinity high school for junior year. i feel very uncomfortable there and have only made a few friends but still like the school. in Amityville high school, i have a lot of friends, am very comfortable, the classes are easy, and the rule seem not to exist. Now I am going into Senior year, the most important in my mind i want to know, should i stay at trinity or go back to A-ville?
I don't think you need much advice on this question. Simply go back to the school that you felt most comfortable at. If it's a matter of the classes being too easy, than simply enroll in AP or Honors.
i'm thinking of moving to oakville ontario
because i've heard alot of good new about it.
but from your perspective, i want to know which of the catholic schools are better.
first of all, i'm 14, going to grade 9
preppy, and athletic.
i wanna know the school that is more talked about,
as in, they have good sportmans, intelligent students,
and plus nice preppy girls with cute guys and awesome uniforms would be nice ;) jkz, i'm not expecting all that,
so anywayz....

...Do you remember the Holy Trinity grade school in Winsted?
Helen (Sterner) Guggemos of Winsted, class of 1952, recalls taking music lessons at the school.
“I remember taking piano lessons from Sr. Maureen, OSF, for many years. Up through the mid-1950s, the convent was the front half of the building. The piano lesson room was on the main level of the convent, towards the front of the building, just inside the front entrance door. Sr. Maureen was a kind, knowledgeable teacher,” Guggemos said.
Tom Wiemiller of Winsted, a 1961 graduate, attended school at Holy Trinity when most of the teachers were still nuns.
“I think you have one favorite teacher, and mine was my second grade teacher, Sr. Conrad. She was funny, and a good teacher,” Wiemiller said. “I was in the first grade with 62 other students, all sitting in our wooden desks with wooden runners. We were pretty much wall-to-wall desks and students. Sister DeChantal (later known as Sister Catherine Mary) had all of those students in one class,” Hertel recalled.
