Question about being Catholic and Beth Moore studies?
Joseph Todaro #42

Hey,

So my neighborhood has a few Christian women (from many denominations) that get together in this one lady's house for Bible Study. We always (or so far have always, we started last summer) do Beth Moore studies.

I did the Jesus one and Only last summer and loved it - and fell in love with Jesus. My faith blossomed. I haven't joined the studies throughout the year because of school.

But I want to re-join in the summer for an awesome study- Breaking Free. However, Im not sure if my parents will let me do the summer study. They don't think Catholics can do the study. But, there is a Catholic lady in the study, too, who brings her catholic bible and we all get along.

Bottom line - Do you think Catholics can do Beth Moore Studies? Any help about asking to do the study?

thanks, and please pray for me!

There is no denomination that is not welcome at a Beth Moore study.

Tell your parents that
1)it is not a denominational study
2) that people of all denominations are there.
3)Maybe show them the below Bible verse
4)Maybe ask your mom to go with you to check it out

I'll pray for you.

Did you know Michael Moore was an Eagle Scout and Roman Catholic and study in a seminary?
stack

Isn't that a conservative background?

http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Mo ore

Has it ever occured to any of you conservatives that he is trying to get to the truth of any matter at great risk to himself because of the conservative view of not addressing issues that are uncomfortable publicly??
Change is the result of illumination and debate!

It's time to sweep out the problems and bring them to light and correct them!!!!

Michael Moore is a truthseeker and wants our broken system to be fixed?

Why are so many of you afraid?

Most truly abhorrent people have perfect backgrounds.

It doesn't matter what their parents forced them into when they were children, it matters what they do with their life when they're on their own.

I also disagree with your assertion that he "is trying to get to the truth of any matter at great risk to himself". He's at absolutlely no risk, knows it, and will take advantage of it. He's also not trying to get to any truths beyond the ones that bring him into the limelight and sell his movies....ie, the half- and un- type of truths that make for good mockumentaries.

Is Michael Moore still a catholic?

No, according to Mr. Moore, on May 18th, 2006, he wrote:

I left the Roman Catholic Church permanently after the 2004 elections ..."

American Christianity is far less bloody than it used to be.

Songs like “Power in the Blood” or “There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood” or “Are You Washed in the Blood?” are still sung in some places, but fewer and fewer, and there aren’t many newer songs or praise choruses so focused on blood. The Cross, yes; redemption, yes; but blood, rarely. We’re eager to speak of life, but hesitant to speak of blood.
