my high school was shut down this year, and now i can't decide on where to go. i've narrowed it down to 3 options, 2 catholic schools, 1 public. the catholic schools are Nativity BVM high school and our lady of lourdes regional high school. the public school is north schuylkill jr./sr. high school. i was wondering if anyone could look at the websites of the schools and give me some advice on what i should do
nativity:

lourdes:

north schuylkill:

i have to know by tomorrow, any input will help.
Nativity had a MUCH better offering of activities, sports, and academics listed than the other two.
Loudes has an extremely small class size. They said the average is 12 students per class, and they said they have a cooperative arrangement with North Schuykill for some of the sports.
North Schuylkill did not have much of anything listed.
IMO, the Catholic schools give a much better overall education, and they will give you a better chance of getting into college (if that's what you want). They also offered a Vocational track that the others did not seem to have, and they listed a lot of clubs.
Overall, I think Nativity would be the best choice, with Lourdes being a close second.
Congratulations students, parents, faculty, and staff. May you all be blessed with God#39;s Love, Mercy, and Grace... God Bless!
Just some facts, for school. ;D
Edit;
Sorry if I didn't make it clear enough &_&..
Nativity Story = Birth Story. And being catholic, I believe that it did happen.
And you believe that Protestants don't acknowledge the Nativity? That is being closed-minded and not very Christian at all.
What exactly are you wanting to know about it? The movie Nativity Story is a bit more accurate than most people were brought up to believe.
According to Luke, there was a census done at the time of his birth during the reign of Cyrenius as governor of Syria. History says this is not true. During the time that is believed to be when he was born (roughly 5BC) there was no Roman census of Jews and there was no governor of Syria named Cyrenius at that time. He did exist and ruled that area but he wasn't in power at all during the timeframe of the nativity.
Romans were meticulous recordkeepers. However Herod who was a Roman king, supposedly ordered a mass infanticide which should have made itself known somewhere but it doesn't. Yet he is well known (and documented) for killing off his own children and grandchildren.
Its a Catholic school
It really depends on how appropriate u want the humour to be maybe add little aspectsd of modern day life for instance the three kings could bring a iphone, ghd's and a gold chain little things like that.
Depends on the humour how u want it to be dry, witty you get me?
But you could have maybe like an aspect of other characters to like make it funny like a random chicken or someone in the news come on stage and go "Oh wrong play sorry"
Etc
Hope this helps if u want any more ideas contact me x

Night Hawk News
The last week of school before break, I missed Tuesday, and Wednesday, and I had an extra day to finish all the assigned homework. Friday got cancelled, so I have to turn it in on Monday. I go to a Catholic school, so I have religion class. I was assigned to write a nativity poem.
The directions are: "Reflect on the picture below and write a poem about the nativity of Jesus." There's a little cartoon picture under it. My teacher was in a very pissy mood on Thursday, so when I told her I wasn't exactly sure what she wanted me to do, she just said "Write a poem" and told me to sit down. After further investigation (asking other kids from my class) all I had figured out was that it could be a haiku, and had to include Jesus, God, and Mary.
I am completely clueless on what to write. If it matters, I"m in 6th grade. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
P.S. I haven't been to church or anything before I started school here, so I'm very worried I will get my facts wrong and look stupid. Mind you, I do know about the nativity, but it might be little details I'm messed up on.
Again, thanks so much!
You could leave out the little details. Look at the cartoon thing (or find a better picture, maybe) and think up a simile. That is the most important thing in poetry. I think that nativity poem is best that hardly seems like a nativity poem at all. Think up an analogy. That should make the project much more fun and rewarding. And if your teacher has any notion about what constitutes poetry, she should be impressed. If she isn't...well, that's the funny thing about teachers. Have you ever heard the saying, "Those who cannot do a thing teach it instead?"

Jason Colero , Manager, Community Relations, Toronto Argonauts, remarked, ““It has been quite rewarding to see how many students we have affected through the Huddle Up program. We encourage the students not only to stop bullying others but to help others who they witness being bullied through our motto of ‘support, report, defend’. I can’t wait to see what kind of results we achieve through the remainder of our Huddle Up school visits.” Marc Charette , a student at St. Stephen’s Catholic Secondary School, commented on the program, “I felt that the presentation gave me a new kind of confidence, which no anti-bullying presentation has ever given me before. I listened to the presentation and, knowing that...

In November of 2009, a national task force commissioned by the University of Notre Dame launched a campaign to improve educational opportunities for the next generation of American Latinos by expanding their access to Catholic schools.
The U.S. bishops have lauded the campaign which seeks to double the percentage of Hispanic students enrolled in Catholic schools, bringing their number to one million by 2020.
Father Henry Kuykendall is the pastor at Nativity Church which is located on Evansville’s southeast side. It’s a parish with a growing Hispanic population.
He’s been the pastor there since 1990, and under his direction the parish has launched a campaign to get poor Latino students — in grades kindergarten, one and two — into four Catholic schools in Evansville: Christ the King, Holy Rosary, Holy Spirit and St. Theresa during the 2010-2011 school year.
