Symposium promotes proper care of elderly | CBCP News
MANILA, March 24, 2010— A symposium focusing on the primary importance of being positive in caring for the elderly and getting them involved in activities that interest them was organized by the CBCP’s Episcopal Commission on Health Care (ECHC) last March 20 at the Paco Catholic School in Pedro Gil, Manila.
According to Fr. Luke Moortgat, Executive Secretary of CBCP-ECHC, the seminar themed “Look Carefully, Act Mercifully” was a way of showing the elderly the Church’s great concern of their needs and well-being.
He encouraged caregivers to properly care and attend to the needs of the elderly by involving their aging parents/relatives/patients on various activities that interest them.
Among those who participated in the seminar were relatives of the elderly, caregivers, volunteers and some other organizations advocating for the aged.
