A Taste of St. Mark Catholic School
I'm planning to enrol to St. Marks Catholic high school. To be accepted you have to be approved by the high school principal, parish priest n sum1 else. i go to the st marks parish and i alter serve there. but i hvent showed up for lyk a year or so in alter serving. (dont bother asking yy) n im worried that the parish priest might not approve me coz i dont go to alter serving anymore. - and i havent bothered telling them that i would quit so technically my name is stil printed out in the schedule.
do you think it would affect my high school enrol ment? if yes wat shuud i do? if no then yy?
It may. I suggest you go and talk things over with your priest. They are in the business of forgiveness you know. He'll understand whatever reasons you have. I don't think he'll want to punish you for standing them up, just understand your reasons.
You are obviously young, but you should know that when you don't keep your commitments you inconvenience others. I'm sure after a couple of months they probably didn't expect you.
Just go talk things over with the priest.

ST.Mark School vs. Ridgefield Academy (example)
It really depends. In educational terms, they're both equally good but if you're catholic, you'd want to pick the catholic school because it will help you learn better about your religion.
My daughter is currently in Kindergarten she goes to a school called st Mark's its a Catholic Charter and she loves it very much. She has learned so much at this school since she is only in half day kinder. Ok well we are buying a house that is I would say 3 to 4 miles from the school. There is a school right across the way from where we buying. Its walking distance. It pretty much is the same thing but non of her friends would be there etc... Would you change her school for 1st grade or keep her where she is at? Here current school told me she is more the welcome to stay. She wants to stay at St Mark's but I just don't know if it would be worth the trouble. Also both school have about the same test score math and reading around 98 to 100 percent in most grades. Can someone give me some advice thanks :)
it will not be this year in kindergarten it will be first grade as we are not closing until late next month.
oh and we wont be moving in until like June or July. The house is a HUD home and needs about 15,000 worth of work but it will be worth it in the end as we are still getting a good deal :)
change schools when your in kindergraden it doesnt matter shell make more friends and have more confidence and be better with changes in the future along with flexibility and shell be the new girl shell have lots of attention and have no problem with making friends
I thought I read it in some Catholic book but I can’t be sure. Or were there any Saints who said anything similar – maybe St. Augustine? Ages ago, in Sunday school, my teacher told me that if a person were isolated in a desert for a prolonged period, he would go beyond a primate’s survival instincts and he would eventually build a shrine. Is that a realistic story? Does Man really gravitate naturally to his God, even without external influence? Does mankind consider spirituality essential or is it a luxury? Compare it to love. Love is not essential to survival – however, the absence of love would, without fail, lead to dysfunctional behaviour, to some degree or other. And f.y.i., I am not confusing religion with spirituality; neither am I implying that religion means Christianity. And this is not a question asking ‘why do atheists do such and such’. This is about man’s spiritual nature. I hope there are Catholics out there who have my answers. Thanks
Catholics believe the desire for God is written in the human heart, because each person is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw each person to himself.

St. Mark Catholic School kids learn, live history of the states ...
And suddenly she was Eva McCall Hamilton, the first woman elected to the Michigan state legislature in 1920.
The 11-year-old student at St. Mark Catholic School was part of the school’s State-in-a-Box presentation Tuesday. It’s been an annual tradition at St. Mark for the last six years.
Think science fair, only social studies.
Children in Christine Quinn’s fifth grade social studies classes picked their favorite state, spent two months learning about it, built exhibits about each state using 6-feet-tall refrigerator boxes and dressed up as a famous character from that state.
Fifty refrigerator boxes thoroughly painted and pasted with state factoids lined the church’s parish hall. Each school class filed through listening to each child’s presentation and asking questions about his or her state. St. Mark students voted for their favorite box, and the fifth grade sang a state capital rap song.
...Dallas-based Catholic Foundation gives 10 Work of Heart Awards to ...
The Catholic Foundation announced today that 10 commendable Dallas-area educators each received a Work of Heart Award, along with a $500 grant for personal use. The Catholic teachers and staff were selected for the award based on their dedication and service to their schools, students, and communities. One of the Richardson winners actually saved the life of a co-worker by performing CPR after her colleague suffered a heart attack.
Recipients of the Work of Heart Awards were selected from nominations written by students, teachers, parents, administrators, and community members. The criteria is based on traditional merit including tenure and leadership, acts of kindness or charity, Christian example, mentoring, and simply going the extra mile for an individual student, family, or the community.
