I am interested in choosing from all of the Catholic churches, but if I had to choose from a Catholic Church on St. Thomas, which one is the most picturesque?
Also how far is it between the islands?
What type of transportation is there?
If it is a ferry, is it covered? Specifically, if I were staying on one island and got married on another, would my fiancee's hair be a mess by the time we traveled over to the other island?
First you can take a ferry to and from St. John but to go to St. Croix you can only fly most of the year. I am from the Virgin Islands and in my opion Holy Cross in St. Croix is the best

Recent medical study found that about 15 percent of pregnancies ended in miscarriages during the first 20 weeks. The study further said, “The actual percent is probably much higher because most miscarriages occur by the 12th week, before they are even detected.” ( Journal of the American College of Ob- Gyn, Oct.2006).
If such embryos/fetuses are “persons” as some claim, does that mean that nature (or God) is a rampant abortionist? If such embryos/fetuses have “souls” as some claim, are those billions deprived of a heaven because they are not baptized?
Or might this scientific finding be a significant indication that such embryos/fetuses are less than human beings? Such was the teaching of the highly regarded Roman Catholic theologian Thomas Aquinas. He thought that before “the quickening” or perception of movement of the fetus , 16-20 weeks, it was not yet human, and that aborting it was a moral option. "
What possible value can the views of a Catholic theologian hold for Protestants or even for contemporary Catholic church hierarchy?
NEVER ANY CATHOLIC EVER HAS SAID THAT ABORTION WAS IN ANY WAY OK. What you have said that St thomas Aquinas said is libellous. The catholic church teaches and defends fierecely the rights of the unbornded and it has always been so. What the catholic curhc teaches and upholds and has always done so is that when God creates a human being God infused the person at CONCEPTION with a soul. This uniting soul and body in a composite being since inception. this my malinformed friend is the view of st Thomas Aquinas, a doctrine that has informed catholic and Christian theologu ever since. Thomism more than many others has always defended the human dignity of persons because of our created nature, and because of the presesence of that soul joint with a physical body that is effected by God at conception. Anything else is just wanting to confuse people. Definitely st thomas Aquinas had the limitations of his time, but even so, the trueths he arrived at are still valid today, and it's astounding the depth he had concernign theology and philosophy. He never advocated anything that was not informed by right doctrine moved not only by his privileged intellect but moved by the Holy Spirit. But I wwould really like to know, in what part of his writting did you find such quotation, I would like to examine it, really.
The Catholic church is a champion in the defense of the unborn, everybody knows that.
I think a girl here who wants to punch St Thomas, is actually confusing St thomas with St Augustine. St Thomas in his Summa theologica actually does defend the beauty of sexual love as what it is: A gift from God, beautiful and good. It was St Augustine that said that it was through sex that the original sin passed by, not st Thomas. St Thomas said that sex was beautiful and sacred, and it was because of that reason that God wanted us to respect it and enjoy it responsabilly in matrimony and love, not in licentiousness. God bless

Jesus is the chief cornerstone. ~Ephesians 2:20~
I strongly believe in Peter's words in Acts 2:38 when he commanded baptism in the name of Jesus.
Christ gave the power to teach, to sanctify, and to rule the members of His Church to the Apostles, the first bishops of the Church.
St. Peter was the first Head. After a miraculous escape from prison in Jerusalem, he founded his See in Antioch; here the followers of Christ were first called Christians. Peter made frequent missionary journeys through Judea, Samaria, Galilee, Asia Minor, and probably even Greece. He finally fixed his See at Rome.
St. Peter presided at the Council of the Apostles in Jerusalem in the year 50 A. D. At the same time that St. Paul was beheaded, St. Peter was crucified head downwards, on Vatican Hill, Rome, 67 A. D.
St. John, the Beloved Disciple, lived at Ephesus and governed the Church in Asia Minor.
In the time of Trajan he was thrown into a caldron of boiling oil, but was miraculously preserved. Later he was banished to Patmos, where he had the revelations which we call the Apocalypse. He died at the age of about 100 years, the last of the Apostles, and the only one who did not die a martyr's death. He left his Gospel and Epistles.
St. James the Greater, St. John's brother, labored in Judea, and according to tradition, travelled as far as Spain.
He was the first of the Apostles to be martyred being beheaded in Jerusalem in the year 44, by Herod Agrippa.
St. Matthew preached among the Ethiopians, Persians, and Parthians, and was martyred in Parthia. He wrote the first of the four Gospels.
St. James the Less was Bishop of Jerusalem. He was cast down from the pinnacle of the Temple in 63 A. D. He left one Epistle.
St. Andrew, St. Peter's brother, preached along the lower Danube, and was crucified in Greece.
St. Thomas preached in Persia, Medea, and went as far as India. He was martyred in India, pierced with a lance at the command of the king.
St. Philip preached in Phrygia and Scythia, and was crucified at Hieropolis.
St. Bartholomew preached in India, Arabia,.and Assyria. He was flayed and crucified in Armenia.
St. Simon preached in North Africa, and was martyred in Persia.
St. Jude preached in Syria, and was martyred in Persia. He wrote the "Catholic Epistle".
St. Matthias, chosen to take the place of Judas, preached in Ethiopia, and was martyred in Sebastopolis.
St. Paul was converted miraculously (Acts 9) in the year 34. He of all the Apostles labored the most abundantly. He wrote many Epistles.
He is called the Apostle of the Gentiles, because he carried the Gospel to the pagan world. He travelled extensively and successively to Seleucia, Cyprus, Asia Minor, Phrygia, Galatia, Macedonia, Thessalonica, Athens, Corinth, Miletus, and finally Rome. From Rome he went to Spain and the East, then returned to Rome, where he was martyred in 67 A. D.
Christ intended that this power should be exercised also by their successors, the bishops of the Church.
The Apostles first preached in Judea on the very first Christian Pentecost. Then they dispersed throughout the different countries of the then known world. Everywhere they preached, baptized, and ruled the Christian communities. They were the first bishops of the Church.
"As the Father has sent me, I also send you" (John 20:21).
The Apostles chose men to assist them, imparting to them greater or less powers. Before leaving a place, they chose a successor with full powers (Acts 14:22).
Those who received only a small part of the powers of the Apostles were called deacons. Those given greater power were the priests. Those appointed successors to rule in the place of the Apostles were the bishops.
Christ had given the Apostles full powers to choose successors, when He gave them the powers His Father had given Him (John 20:21)
It was His wish that the Apostles should have successors to continue the Church, which He said would last till the end of the world (Matt. 28:20). Without successors to the Apostles, the Church would have no rulers, and being unorganized would never have lasted.
If they admitted that, then they woould have to conclude that Jesus started the catholic Church and would have to become Catholic
I copied this from Catholicscomehome.org,so do you agree with it? If you want to call yourself Catholic, but you want to pick and choose for yourself which of the Church's teachings to accept and which to reject, you give everyone else who calls themselves Catholic the right to do the same thing.
For example, you believe women should be priests...in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1577 states, "Only a baptized man validly receives ordination...For this reason the ordination of women is not possible!" You don't believe that...well, that's fine...[RIP] just tear that page out of your Catechism...you just made it a Catechism of your Catholic Church...not mine.
But remember, if you can throw doctrines out, so can everyone else who calls themselves Catholic. That gives Joe Parishioner over at St. Doubting Thomas Catholic Church the right to throw out the Church's social justice teachings...he doesn't feel like feeding the hungry, caring for the poor, and all that other "bleeding heart" stuff - Paragraphs 2401 -2463 [RIP]...he just made it a Catechism of his Catholic Church...not mine and not yours.
You believe contraception is okay? Paragraph 2370 says contraception is intrinsically evil! [RIP] Joe Parishioner doesn't like what the Church teaches on the death penalty - Paragraphs 2266-2267 [RIP]. You don't like what it teaches on pages 55-60 [RIP]. He doesn't like what it teaches on pages 128-140 [RIP]
Can you see what's happening? I heard it said once that there is a shortage of vocations to the priesthood in the United States, but no shortage of vocations to the Papacy! If we don't believe in all of it, if we each appoint ourselves Pope and throw out a doctrine here or a doctrine there, then our faith is no longer Catholic.
Very good! *applause* It the pick and choose philosophy that runs a Protestant church. When every one can choose what the Bible means, then no one knows what the Bible means. And when someone can decide what the catechism means, no one knows what the catechism means.

We are entering the Holy Week - St. Thomas#39; Catholic Church
We are entering the Most Holy Week of the year.
On Thursday night, we will be celebrating the Last Supper of the Lord with his disciples at the occasion of the Passover festival. Jesus will leave to us, as the greatest testament, the gift of himself in the Holy Eucharist. Love and service are at the centre of the evening. “You will have no part with me if I do not wash your feet Peter”. You must receive from me what I expect you to give to others. Two thousand years later, it is not any easier to expose oneself with humility to the gesture of Christ. Please come prepared!
Good Friday is the darkest day experienced in the whole history of humanity. The very Son of God is being tortured by His own. The saddest thing is that this injustice continues to happen every day when we are torturing and killing each other. Victims or/and actors, we are invited to let go onto the Cross of Jesus all that is dehumanizing us.

Christians observe Good Friday
2 Apr : Christians on Friday thronged churches to hold special prayers and observed fasts as a way of renunciation of earthly comforts to commemorate Good Friday, marking the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Members of Catholic Church held processions at various places with devotees carrying wooden crosses to symbolise the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus some 2000 years ago.
In the Christian-dominated Mizoram, the largest Presbyterian Church organised prayers and worship services as priests performed masses in all local branches of the church.
Massive processions were taken out by the faithful in Aizawl and certain other towns, braving inclement weather, to signify sufferings of the Christ to save mankind.
