It means you're definitely going to get calls from colleges within the next year. Right now it means they expect you to be a solid college player, probably not pro material just yet. If you keep up the hard work, identify your weak spots and improve on them, and keep the grades decent, we'll probably be seeing you on ESPN throwing down for one of the big time schools. Good luck and keep working hard.

carmelo anthony?

I dunno what school and career path to choose from!!HELP ME!!.?

I'm an senior in high school and I'm applying to these following universities Towson, Baltimore County Md, West Virginia, Mary mount, Frostburg, Catholic and and Penn State Alootona. I'm just an 3.0 student but when I go to college I'll get more serious tho,. And I want to major either in pharmacy or nursing to become an nurse practicer. So yea I dunno what school to choose and I dunno which career to major in. I'm not great with math but im good with science but I really want to be a pharmacist but I don't want to try to be something that I'm not capable of. And I want to know which major you think might be better and what school is good for either? ANY INFO WILL HELP!!

Either one is good. The problem is that you haven't been applying yourself, so you don't know what you're capable of.

My suggestion is to find courses which are common to both fields, get started, work hard and then make your decision a few month into it.

The story of Cardinal Gibbons Cricket

Last year, I coached the only American high school cricket team outside of New York City. It was created by a group of American kids who, without ever having played a hardball game, had already fallen in love with the sport. How did this come to pass? Well, it all started in Virginia, in April of 2008.

As a U.S. History teacher at the Cardinal Gibbons School in Baltimore, I often led field trips to the many historic sites in the area, and that April, I led a group of students on a two-day visit to Civil War sites in Richmond. Our first stop was the American Civil War Center at the site of the Tredegar Iron Works . After watching a cannon-firing demonstration, a smallish man in period clothing called out to our group, asking if we would like to play cricket. We agreed to have a look at the game, and from that point on, my life has had an added dimension.,

Will Archdiocese schools closure plan be a Towson Catholic repeat?

Archibishop Edwin F. O'Brien is scheduled this week to release his plans to close some unspecified number of Catholic schools in response to falling enrollments and weakening finances. The restructuring plan has been months in the making and is the product of a blue ribbon commission, focus groups, community meetings and discussion in the parishes. It should not come as a surprise to the parents of Catholic school students, the way the sudden closure of Towson Catholic High School did last summer, when officials at that school -- which was not affiliated with the Archdiocese -- shut its doors just weeks before the start of the new school year. That decision led to widespread protests and even a lawsuit.

The scale of the Archdiocese's plan will likely be much wider and affect much more than one school. Are Catholic school parents and students prepared for such a change? Do they have confidence in the process the Archdiocese used to craft its plan, or in the possibility of stabilizing the region's Catholic school system? What do Catholic school parents think needs to be done to shore up the system's academic and religious mission?
