Hey im in 8th grade and i just moved here from another state and i just went to a catholic high school's open house, and i really liked it. from pre-k until 7th grade (before i moved) i attended a catholic private school and enjoyed the small enviorment and knowing everyone there. now im at a public school for the first time, and most of my friends are going to roswell high school. ive heard fantastic things about both schools, but right now i cant decide if i want to go back to te comfortable, excellent enviorment of a catholic high school or go have fun at roswell...
please dont say that private schools are for stuck ups i get that all the time and you wouldnt know about one unless you actually went to one.
PLEASE PLEASE anyone whos been to either of these schools or have heard about them you know where they are i need all of the info i can get. thanks!! (:
Catholic schools are Pretty laid back but i think their a time we should explore a little and try different things. I personally like Catholic schools but i have gone to both and like meeting new people from the not so wealthy part of town/not so much in to god. i respect every ones believes and don't try to push my religion on people. im a catholic

This is a bit of a weird question. I went to Amityville high school on long island for my freshmen and sophomore years and liked it but transferred to Holy Trinity high school for junior year. i feel very uncomfortable there and have only made a few friends but still like the school. in Amityville high school, i have a lot of friends, am very comfortable, the classes are easy, and the rule seem not to exist. Now I am going into Senior year, the most important in my mind i want to know, should i stay at trinity or go back to A-ville?
I don't think you need much advice on this question. Simply go back to the school that you felt most comfortable at. If it's a matter of the classes being too easy, than simply enroll in AP or Honors.
do you believe that they teach us to believe the Bible literally, and that Jesus was God?
would your opinion change if i said that i go to a roman catholic, diocesan high school, and i believe Jesus was just like us. In my theology(religion) class they taught us the contrary of what you are probably thinking. They taught of the holy trinity. Jesus was God in the flesh, God made himself flesh for these main reasons,
1. to save us by reconciling us with God
(restoring our love and friendship with God)
2. so that we may know God's love
(he shows us through his life that God loves us and is always ready to forgive us when we sin)
3. to be our model of holiness
(by his life he showed us how a christian should live)
4. to make us partakers of our the divine nature
(Jesus enables us to becaome sharers of his divinity)
that all came straight from my religion textbook, that i had homewokr in.
We do not pray to Jesus because he told us to, or because he IS God, but becuase of our deep appreciation and love for him. Why do we pray to saints? Because we have gratitude, appreciation, and love forthem, Its kind of the same thing for Jesus christ.
?
I believe in God and Jesus, I know too much about them to doubt them. My life has been a hoot, so I don't need a religion class to tell me what is real, I have a lesson learned file for that. I also believe what Joyce Meyer says......."Going to church and sitting in a pew doesn't make you a Christian, I could sit in my garage all day and it won't make me a car." I think you are a wonderful Christian, peace be with you.

its not with the school...its with you...it is you who matters---
look, your studying in the best school in town but then you're not helping yourself...
the success of a student depends with himself...
do not consider if that school is the best school, consider yourself...if you can and if you could go with the flow...
It's ironic because Christmas Trees symbolize the Trinity, and wreaths symbolize God's undying love for us. I know that we have to be tolerant of other people, and I agree 100%, but that tolerance has to go both ways-in public school you should be able to say God and Chruches should be able to toll their bells, and people who claim it's prejudice, well they are discriminating against us for not paying Catholic High School tuition and eliminating God. Why are people not grasping this concept? What is it against Catholics? Are people just that judgemental and selfish?
Where do you get this kind of crappy information???? Trees and such were around long before christianity. As far as being judgmental and selfish, have you looked in the mirror lately?
