The press reports are misleading. Please do your homework and learn Catholic doctrine before giving an opinion about it.

"Limbo" was never a Catholic Church doctrine.
Here is what the Catholic Church has taught and still teaches on the mater:
1261 As regards children who have died without Baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved, and Jesus' tenderness toward children which caused him to say: "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them," allow us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without Baptism. All the more urgent is the Church's call not to prevent little children coming to Christ through the gift of holy Baptism.
.
Source is the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
"Commonly held ideas" are NOT Church doctrine.

Church doctrine is not about rumors and "commonly held ideas". Please do your homework!

Thank you, as it is very aggravating to listen to "Catholics" and non-Catholics getting upset about this document or opining negatively against the Catholic Church. Nothing has changed people. The Catholic Church hasn't changed, whether you like that or not.
The purpose of this video is to help Protestant Christians and others develop a better understanding of the Roman Catholic Church, its history and ...
Why don't they use quotes from a real book of Catholic teaching like the Catechism of the Catholic Church or Baltimore Catechism instead of from a book supposedly called "The New York Catechism" (a book that I don't think ever even existed)?
Catholicism has more than the bible, we have sacred Tradition and the Magisterium of the Church (the bishops in union with the Pope). And if you believe that Jesus is God and that He founded the Catholic Church then it shouldn't be hard to believe that God would protect that truth from being watered down. If you notice, the Catholic Church is always getting criticized by the media for not compromising her teachings on issues of faith and morals even when we see many mainline Protestant denominations caving to political pressures and getting rid of age old bed rock Christian doctrines of faith and morality.
--is Catholic and a convert too--
I don't know. There are a few Protestant groups that will accurately quote from Catholic sources, but they are few and far between. I haven't decided whether or not it stems from an inability to look at history or if it is from spiritual blindness. There is also the huge problem that people who study Catholicism enough to quote it accurately usually end up converting to Catholicism or to Orthodoxy (or at least they drop being anti-Catholic), which completely depletes any sort of Protestant base that knows what Catholics really teach and why.
Anti-Catholic non-Christians can be better than Anti-Cath Prots because they will tend to use better philosophy and historical sources, and are not prone to use the works of Anti-Cath Prots because they recognize them to be the junk that they are.
Anti-Cath. Orthodox, though...that is completely different. Those are interesting because both Catholics and Orthodox use the same foundational works of the early Church. It is more of a sense of dealing with the sin of pride than anything else when you look at the root cause of the hatred and bigotry.
Though what gets my blood boiling is Anti-Cath. Catholics...
On what constitutes the validity of a certain Sacrament, according to the Catholic Church. Is this fair? This is NOT a personal opinion but, Cannon law. Should Yahoo be able to tell me what is Doctrine and what is not?
I don't think you should have been violated for this. There seem to be a lot of questions arise about the Catholic doctrine, and a lot of misconceptions are posted daily. Kudos to you for trying to set the record straight.
Yahoo! doesn't read the violations, Midge. They are issued by bots. You can try to appeal, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. I just eat the violation notices and let it go.
I'm expecting one of my own at anytime now. I came to the defense of another user who was being trolled today, and instantly about a dozen users blocked me. Seems people want to voice their own opinions without extending the same courtesy to others.
I'm sorry this happened to you.
(((((Midge)))))
The main areas of religious teaching he disputed were contained in his 95 Theses. They concerned themselves with the authority of the pope, the selling of forgivness (indulgences), and the nature of physical penance. He also married after becoming a priest, which was not common practice even then.

The Gay Issue and adoption. I'm not Catholic.
As a communist party New Labour are striving to do what every communist government does and that is remove freedom of speech along with choice. The communists are as the Gays would say, are ''coming out'' they are showing themselves because they think they are indestructible. The Tribal vote they have is still in tact so they hope to reduce our freedoms even more in future. If they are not stopped our future looks grim. I am not a catholic but respect their right to believe and conduct their spiritual business without interference. With communism this is impossible, remember there is now a secret police force to deal with the values of the church which has full powers of interrogation and search . Secret police are bad enough but How far will the communist go to subdue our churches? The only way forward is the ballot box, so, use your vote wisely. ,Mainstream politics is a wasted vote.
