I am very interested in the Catholic faith, but having grew up in a nonpracticing Baptist household, I feel that I have no religious background nor do I know how to join in at a church. Does anyone know how a person should go about joining a Catholic Church, properly?
Call or go by your closest Catholic church. Tell them you are interested in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults).
RCIA classes usually start in the fall and end at Easter.
God bless you in your spiritual walk in His Light.
quot;Don#39;t you think Mary is God?quot; quot;You worship statues, right?quot; quot;Catholics don#39;t read the Bible!quot; All Catholics ...
i want to get married at my catholic church but my fiance is not does not belong to the catholic faith.
One person must be baptized Catholic, and the other must be baptized in whatever their faith is. Baptism is all that is required. Of course, if you are a practicing Catholic, likely you have made all of your sacraments, but that is not required.Talk to a priest at your church. These days they can be very accommodating, and can even arrange for baptism if your fiance is interested.
How come the section of Jesus Christ's life, you know- the hunk of time from when he was 12 to when he was 3- is completely and totally blank? I mean, I honestly don't believe over half of the bible, I don't trust the Catholic church and I hate going to church, but I honestly want to know this! What the hell is wrong with the Catholic faith?! I mean for God's sake, get some common sense people!
Watch the "Banned In The Bible" on the History Channel or some of the other shows about "The Real Jesus" or "Jesus's Life".
You will see that when Constantine and the council were putting together the Bible there were thousands of scripts by many people, some of his own apostles that were thrown out, eliminated, or changed. There is stories about Jesus, but the council just didn't consider them to be worthwhile. Whether that is good or bad is debatable.
Over the past several days, I have answered and read the answers of very disturbed individuals who obviously have little or no education on the questions they ask especially when dealing with or about the Catholic Church and its faith. I've always felt that if you are serious about learning, you ask and answer responsible questions with quality and substance. Instead the questions openly challenge and insult the faith and obviously originates from often disturbed minds...minds that already have thiers made up, as opposed to actually learning something. So why is it that people act this way, instead of showing that they realy want to learn.
Because first alot of people are not really asking questions but merely trying to be silly or ask a question to bait alot of people for certain types of answers.
next you have the largest majority of people who answer questions that are very obviously non christian if not even non religious. Add to that the part of those that are of some of the christian faiths that hold catholics right up there with the anti christ, you can see where most of them come from.
having be on questions and answer boards for over 7 years now ( various boards) and even a paid expert on one board several years ago. The answers here at this time are actuallly fairly nice compaired to those on many boards
Please ask away! I would like to know the kinds of things this age group is questioning.
Thank you for all comments and questions--just to clarify, I will not be answering the questions, just seeing which questions are out there. Thank you:)
LOL! As the 16 year old Sacristan, an Altar Server, and an Eucharistic Minister in my parish, I can't ask you a question. LOL!
Not because I don't have any, but because of what I've been told of the Church by clergy, there is no way I want other faiths to read my questions. Good luck though! =)
