If Christian theology and the church have a supernatural origin in an
omnipotent God, then why has theology and the church evolved through
naturalistic social processes over time?

Because the church, whether or not you agree on its origins, is still a human enterprise, meaning it will have failures, as us humans suck. And the church doesn't evolve, it adapts to what threatens there power, no new concepts are added(typically).

But it had no supernatural origin, so we're good anyway.

Obamas Church is not a Christian Church. How many of you know what Black Liberation Theology is.....?
Lent - Day 21 - Proverbs 23:12 (Text Version)

and how it differs and conflicts with all major and most minor Christian/Catholic churches, sectors and synods
Read here, I am tired of hearing that Obama is a Christian and Trinity is a Christan Church, Neither are.
It is a distinct religious belief that picks and chooses the parts of the bible it follows This is why Obama can support unlimited abortion on demand against all biblical teachings.

Question on dating and a person's beliefs on Christian theology?

Question on dating and a person's beliefs on Christian theology?
I have been dating a born-again Christian for about 5 months now (I am a born-again Christian also). We have since the start of the relationship questioned each other's beliefs to make sure we were on the same page and not dating each other in vain. All along it seemed we agreed on the basics, such as how to become a Christian, what it means to be a Christian, the importance of church, and also major moral issues. Now we have figured out that we disagree on the more in-depth issues such as speaking in tongues, prophecy, modern-day miracles and a few other things. How important is it that a couple agree on EVERYTHING that has to do with their Christian beliefs? I would really hate this issue to break me and my boyfriend apart.

I think you each must ask yourselves whether these differences in the practice of your faith will in any way deter your service in the Kingdom of the Lord.
For instance, if you (or he) experienced speaking in tongues, could the other just deal with it? Or if something occurred that one of you saw as a modern-day miracle, could the other respect that perspective?
I doubt if either of you will ever find a prospective mate that agrees with you exactly on every issue. But if the two of you can move forward in the fellowship of bleievers and follow his/her own leadership from the Holy Spirit then I do not believe your differences will do anything more than stretch each of you in your desire to be of service to the Lord.
And who knows.....you may even be the instrument of enlightment to each other.

What would the 1st century apostles think of the 21st century Christian church?
God's house: For sale!

I think they would be sick.

In the days of Paul, the followers of Mashiyach met in synagogues, celebrated the Shabbat and learned the Way of the Torah Mashiyach. It 190 C.E. Marcion built the first "church" and he birthed the theologies of the "Old and New Testament", Dispensationalism and Replacement Theology became a Christian value as it remains to this day.

Today the Christian church at large has adopted the pagan festivals Christmas, Easter and Sunday which where introduced into Christianity many years after Paul, yet Paul is credited for bringing this paganism into "the church"? NO, the fact of the matter is that the Gentile "Church Fathers", like Tertullian and Marcion are responsible for the Hellenism, not Paul.

Sunday remains the foremost Christian Feast Day, just as it was already then.

And it is not the customs of the day, but the truths and the authentic sacred traditions which really matter.

On both of those points, the apostles and disciples would be pleased, because, in the Catholic Church at least, they remain unchanged and faithfully preserved.

One thing though ... if you truly feel the way you do about going back to those earliest days, you better get rid of that new testament in your bible, because that was most certainly a product of a slightly more mature church ... one that was already growing ... in order to become the true Catholic and universal church that God had ordained it to be.

You ought to be sad. You're totally wrong on this matter.

What's the best way to study Christian theology from an unbiased point of view?
Christening

I was raised fundamentalist protestant. But all I know was what was taught at Church and reading the Bible. But I have heard there are other gospels that aren't in the Bible and the Catholics have other books of the Bible that protestants don't have. What is the truth of Christianity?

Read "The Mystical life of Jesus" by H. Spencer Lewis.
Also read "Beyond Belief" by Elaine Pagels.
Cross reference these books by subject matter.
Dig into the history to see by who and where the Bible has been modified.
Be careful of worshiping the Bible or something else instead of God.

May you find what you seek.
