Tomorrow is Christmas eve and I'm playing piano at the 5 o' clock mass at my church. About How long should I expect the service to last?
Ps. It is a Methodist church if it matters. Thanks.
An hour or more. Depends on what the service entails. If it has an extra long choral program, you may be there for and hour and a half. What is the next scheduled event at the church after the 5:00 mass? That would be a good indicator of the length of service.
On December 30, 2009, Cardinal Christoph Schonborn celebrated the New Year#39;s Eve Mass at St. James Church in Medjugorje to ring in 2010. You ...
Is it -
1. Come - We come together in Mass as one Body, gathering before our Lord
2. Listen - Listening to the Bible readings, the Word of our Lord and Homily
3. Do - Praying and participating in the Eucharist, becoming One with Him
4. Go - The sendoff where we bring this message to all the world
That's one way of summing it up, though I never heard it worded quite that way. The principle focus of the Mass however is #3. The rest just sets a framework within which the Eucharist can take place.
I know attendants gifts are given at the rehearsal dinner, but would you also give out gifts to readers and other church particpants then too?
It is really not required to give gifts to these folks, however if you want to the rehersal dinner would be just fine.
I am teaching in South Korea so I am going to be here for awhile. I am in a small town that does not speak English. Already check out the services last week and it is all in Korean... I don't understand it. I was wondering if you would continue to go to church in Korean or watch the mass online. I am Catholic by the way.
take your bible with you and in the back are the readings for the day. you can also go on line for a daily missal. you may not understand the language but theconsecrationn is the same :)
I moved to Torino Italy about 1 month ago. I am having a difficult time finding a Catholic Church with an English Mass. Any suggestions? Please help.
Try:
+ Chiesa di San Rocco with the English-speaking African community
+ Chiesa S. Giovanni Evangelista with the Tagalog and English-speaking Filipino community
+ Cappella Istituto Sacra Famiglia with the English-speaking Nigerian community
For more information, see: http://www.diocesi.torino.it/archivio2003/comunita_etniche.htm
Although I strongly suggest you also attend mass in Italian.
With love in Christ.
