It seems every Episcopal Church I try has contemporary with Christian rock music, big screen prayer readings with modern text and children running amock in the aisles. I just don't connect spiritually to this mess, and my kids are so distracted by all the sideshows that they are not learning how to pray and concentrate on the Bible readings.
What happened???
I was raised in a very traditional Episcopal church (which remains that way). When I married, I moved to another state, and the Episcopal churches around here are like you described. I can't stand it!
On this website, you can find churches by zip code, and you can check out the churches' websites to see what they're all about before you attend. http://www.episcopalchurch.org/ Hope that helps. Good luck!

My mom doesn't believe the Episcopal church is acceptable possibly because she says they are too liberal in theology and ethics and morals. She didn't really clarify why it wasn't acceptable. She just brought up this woman that was raised Episcopalian who has liberal views and she condemns it because of that.
The Episcopal Church is the only Christian denomination I have complete respect for. It is true, The Episcopals don't hate as much as the ignorant fundies, that is why the ignorant fundies hate them.
n an Episcopal Church, do you have to be Episcopalian to take communion?
No. The table is open for everyone, baptized or not. There is even a Jewish woman who receives communion at my church.
The question is as simple as it sounds. How long is the confirmation process in a U.S. Episcopal Church? Of what does the process consist (e.g., memorization, commitments, etc.)?
It will depend on your local church. Probably a few weeks or months of classes and an talk with a your priest. It will also depend on whether or not your church does confirmations at set times of the year or as an added part of any Sunday service. I didn't have any memorization or test.
