The significance of the Council of Trent to Church / Christian history.
Please detail if you can!!
Anything is appreciated :)
I believe that it is the council that did away with the selling of indulgences once and for all. It also reaffirmed many already existing beliefs in the face of increasing dissent - the perpetual virginity of Mary, the 73 books of scripture, etc.

their jesus started the first christian church which is the catholic church.
A 4th century power struggle played out across the Mediterranean world brought a minor sect of religious extremists to centre stage. Finding themselves on the winning side and cosseted within imperial residences, bishops of the Christian Church were able to impose their faith upon a demoralised population using all the sanctions of the State. And as the empire fragmented and fell, ambitious clerics of Christ disseminated a cancer of superstition, fear and brutality far beyond the old imperial frontiers.

And your point is? The priests of various religions as far back as the Egyptians, Hittites, Assyrians, etc. all pretty did the same thing. Most educated Christians (read Catholics here) know the history of the RCC. They don't agree with what happened, and in fact are often very sad and apologetic, but it is history and cannot be changed.
Look to all the good Churches have done...they are the major players when it come to relief programs after disasters all over the world. They operate homeless shelters and food banks and missions to get food and needed medical supplies to the desperately poor.
The Irish Catholic Church, btw, kept the writings of the Greeks and other pre-Christian civilizations alive and intact and helped to bring about the end of the Dark Ages. The Church encouraged the arts of all types during the Renaissance and clerics have been on the forefront of most of the battles in the 20th century for civil rights, both in the US (Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr) and in South Africa (Bishop Desmond Tutu).
to change from recognition of a 'sabbath' to worshipping on a 'Sunday'?
The early Church worshiped in Jewish synagogues until at least the middle of the 3rd century. From the outset Christians met in private homes on Sundays to observe the Christian parts of the liturgy. In Orthodox countries Saturday is still called "the Sabbath," and they still observe a form of the ancient Jewish liturgy every Saturday evening.
We know the church ,mainly the Roman church, burned so called witches, thieves hands were cut off, protesters of the Roman church were put to the stake & burned or put in boiling oil & water. They were imprisoned to rot in isolation. These were acts of the Roman church& not just a few but thousands upon thousands of people just like you and me.Just like Hitler did to the Jews, artist.Gypsies,& gays. Now other so called christians probably did terrible things, but i know the inquisition of the past was no fairy tale.Real people like you and me died because of what the Pope & his decrees carried out in the name of God.As a christian i do have a problem with that.
If you are a christian you should have a real problem with that, since most all christians from the west originated from the Roman church way back then. How do you feel about all that? From that point of reference it is not so hard to understand the unbeliever. Am i being unfair to make this point an issue?
We need to remember that not everything people do, using God's name, bears any resemblance to what God would have us do.
God calls sin, sin in His word. There is a difference between not compromising God's word in the bible and being hate filled, like the Westboro church people.
We need to be able to see the difference here.
