Shmuley Boteach was on DL Hughly's CNN show tonight, and said that theology had gotten purely negative. Churches are against abortion, against same sex marriage and some believe Barak Obama is the anti-Christ. And you hear nothing more from them in the media.
He postulated that this is giving rise to a surge of atheism in our country.
No. He's falling into the same trap we all do.
It's how so many of us say, "All politicians are crooks; oh, not my congressman who I campaigned for, but all the rest."
We have to remember, "Dog bites man," usually doesn't make the news, but "Man bites dog," does. The media is there to report on the unusual, the sensational, the explosive, the controversial, not the normal, the everyday, the status quo. And people have tried. People have tried to start non sensationalizing, good news spreading, media outlets. Know what happens to them? They go broke.
Paul Simon sang, "I don't believe what I read in the papers, they're just out to capture my dime." That was true thirty years ago, and still true today, and both me and Paul are still "having a good time."

was married to a white seperatist, and had close associations with white seperatists would they still be in the running for POTUS?
Please just answer the question from your heart, and no name calling, thanks.
No, they would not. What is more - it would be their peers in their own party that would never let them get nominated - for instance, if a white Republican did this fellow Republicans would publicly denounce it ourselves - we would not be silly enough to run such a candidate to represent our party.
Does anyone know, if you are a student and was a dependent on someone taxes can they file you as a student on their taxes if you took theology classes for 6mos at a Church. Can you check the box on your taxes for a student in school for the 2006 tax year, the person is 23 years old. The IRS want proof that I was a student and I was. What makes you considered to be a full time student, because now they say you have to be full time. I was a student for 6 months? Thanks
If you were a student for five months at a qualified institution of higher education, then you are considered a full-time student for IRS purposes. If you are under age 24, then you could be a qualifying child for purposes of the EIC.
An institution is qualified if it has a regular teaching staff, course of study, and a regularly enrolled body of students in attendance. Any educational institution that qualifies for federal financial aid would do, but it is not necessary.
Provide documentation that you attended a bona fide school, by your school records, school catalog, etc.
The fact that the school teaches theology is not an issue. If you took theology classes at a church, it would have to have a teaching staff and a curriculum. My guess is this is the issue for the IRS.
Why did Rev Wright say it started in Nicaragua. Isn't that the country where the communist Sandanistas had that revolution? Is Liberation Theology like a communist form of Christianity?
Was Obama's church Communist?
Here's what some of Obama's followers think of the "issues" as well... http://www.bpmdeejays.com/upload/hs_sal_in_Harlem_100108.mp3
And to further answer your question, Obama NEEDED a "christian" church when he began his political career. Michelle already knew this church because of her own racist tendencies. The racial issues of this church drew Obama, supporting the idea that Blacks are SUPERIOR, and they "proved" their point with blatant lies (i.e.Christ had African blood). Christ was Jewish, not a Black African. He most likely looked like the rest of Middle Eastern people, according to ALL theologians, except that tiny minority who choose to follow Black Liberation Theology for their own purposes.
Just reading up on the guys and what to know how they are alike and how they are not
