I have a solid silver Coptic scepter that I bought in an antique store years ago. I would like to get a Coptic cross necklace, but I was wondering if it is something a Christian should wear.
I am asking because they look so different from what the traditional cross looks like and they usually have little symbols imbedded in the cross.

Coptic Orthodox crossThe original Coptic cross has its origin in the Coptic ankh symbol and was adopted by early Christian Gnostics such as the well known Valentinus of Alexandria, Egypt. The Coptic cross of today, used by Coptic Orthodox Christians, has many different forms. The circle represents the eternal and everlasting love of God. Christ's halo was commonly depicted with cross-based halo in the early and especially the eastern parts of Christianity. The full cross symbolizes Christs crucifixion and resurrection.

Another cross with sun imagery is the Coptic Cross. This was originally a sun symbol, with the heaven in the center supported by four pillars in each direction to uphold the sky. Coptic Christians later added the four nails to identify Christ with the heavenly diety, and to suggest the blood on the nails had spread to the four corners of the world.

HISTORY of THE COPTIC CROSS
The Coptic Church is the Christian church of Egypt, established by Mark in the 1st century (around 60 A.D.). The church has dioceses elsewhere in Africa and the Near East. The early Gnostics and Copts adapted the Egyptian Ankh Cross as the basis of its emblem. The Coptic Cross takes many forms, usually a modification of the Ankh Cross, the Latin Cross, the Celtic Cross, or the Greek Cross. These elements were introduced through changes in the region's history.
