cross charm necklace

Is it possible to buy your own necklace charm thing (heart,cross etc)
I'm looking for a black necklace but don't know what i want hanging off of it yet, so if anyone knows where to buy this type or where you can buy them separate please let me know. (hope it all makes sense)
I want a black rope/chain/cord necklace but haven't seen any nice ones around so my question is - can you buy the rope and charm (heart/cross etc) seperate or do you know of any nice ones?

If you can’t find any black cord necklace which I would find very impossible just use the chain from a necklace you already have.

My friend had this necklace which had that black shiny (Nylon?) "string", and the charm was shaped kinda like a rhombus, it was bronze/gold colored, and it was I'd say about 8-10 little crosses that overlapped each other. The best way I can describe it is that it kind of resembled the pattern of Chex cereal, except that it was really the crosses making this pattern. I myself am not Catholic and don't know much about it's symbolisms or anything really, but I was wondering if there was perchance a name for this pattern? See, my friend lost this necklace and it was very important to him, and I'd like to try and see about getting another one for him, but seeing as I don't know what to call it, I don't know what to ask around for.

It might be a Jerusalem Cross, but that has only five crosses; one large cross, and four small (one in each corner).

I got this really great necklace for my birthday, but it has a cross charm on it. I don't really want to remove the cross and it would be difficult anyhow. I know plenty of people who would question me about it if I wore it around them. I don't care what they think, it's just a hassle to answer. So would it be alright for a non-Christian to be wearing a cross?

Well, you can wear what you want. But like you said, it will come with questions.

The cross is symbolic of a Christian who is a follower of Christ Jesus, it represents his dying on the cross for our sins and his resurrection, it is because of Jesus on the cross that we can be forgiven.
