Patron Saint Medal Ettiqute ?
saint jude

I am thinking of becoming Catholic, and my girlfriend gave her Saint Christopher Medal that she bought in Prague (stirling silver, too) to show that we will come back to each other after our 'break' (long story). I have yet to take the medal off, and she is buying me a rosary for Christmas. I have a few questions, though...

Can I wear more than one Saint Medal? When I become a Catholic, I want to buy a Saint Jerome medal, since he is the Patron Saint of Librarians and Academics (I am going to become a Librarian after college). Or is ths somehow a fau pau?

I've seen people wear more than one medal. I know someone who wears both a St. Jude and a St. Alphonsus medal. If that's wrong, I've never been told about it. I've worn multiple saints' medals together.

Should I have a patron saint medal blessed before giving it as a gift?
Multicolored Virgin Mary

I am not a catholic and have no idea about these medals, but I bought one for my catholic husband as a gift. Is it more appropriate to have the medal blessed in the church before giving it to him?

It isn't necessary for the medal to be blessed but it may hold more significance for your husband if you (as a non-Catholic) took the trouble to have it blessed. It's a lovely gesture and I'm sure it will please your husband. You don't need to take it to Church but just ask the priest if he will bless it for you. Ring and make an appointment with him.

Which is the correct Patron Saint?

My 17 yr old step-son is having a hard time with life right now. Nothing too serious at this point but something that needs addressed before it gets out of hand. It's the usual teenage things - life, what's next after H.S. graduation, those types of things.

I'd like to buy him a Patron Saint Medal to wear to help guide him through these times, but I don't know which Saint would be correct. St. Michael? St. Christopher?

St. Aloysius Gonzaga: Is protector and patron of youth, especially of young Catholic students. Is invoked against soreness of eyes and pestilence.

St. Ambrose : Is the patron of those who are Learning (Students).

St. Michael the Archangel: Is patron of grocers, and the guardian of all mountain places. He is the special guardian of the Pope, and of the Blessed Sacrament.

St. Raphael the Archangel: Is invoked in need of healing. Is patron of travelers, and of the young and innocent, and of decision making (Good Judgment).

I think that you might want to get the Miraculous Medal Of Mary. Sisters of Carmel have some beautiful Medals http://www.sistersofcarmel.com/medalmenu.php. Be sure to have it blessed. God Bless

Where can I buy a St. Adjutor medal online? My daughter is a swimmer and that is the patron saint of swimmers.?

I have looked on so many websites already and haven't found one. May be they don't make a medal for him. I would settle for one with a swimmer on it.
